Calories in a tablespoon of butter vs ghee: Why are ghee calories healthier?

by Mitun Mukherjee Milkio food product

Any weight loss diet should have a proper balance of nutrients for proper fitness results. Today's discussion is about ghee vs calories. Those who have shunned fats from their diet should rethink the decision. How many calories are in a tablespoon of butter? A spoonful of butter has 102 calories, and the same amount of ghee has 120 calories.

Judging them based on calorie count will not be a great decision. According to nutritionists, ghee is more effective than butter for a weight loss diet. Ghee calories are naturally higher than butter due to the high saturated fat content. However, calories in tablespoon of butter will not offer you as much stamina as ghee.

Here find the reasons why is ghee a better choice for a weight loss program-

  1. Ghee or clarified butter is a good source of DHA or docosahexaenoic acid, a popular omega-3 fatty acid. It acts as an excellent fat burner. This is one such healthy source of essential fats found in fish oils, flaxseeds, and walnuts.

  2. To stay full and energized, every weight loss enthusiast should have a moderate amount of ghee in the regular diet.

  3. The high-calorie count of ghee contributes to suppressing hunger pangs and boosts metabolism.

  4. Ghee can lubricate the joints, improve memory, and regulate blood-clotting activities.
