Buying A TomTom Sat Nav

by Stephen Malik Internet Maketing

TomTom is one of the best known names in the sat nav world and offers a range of models that include the Start, which is the basic model, right through to the more advanced but more expensive Go Live top end satellite navigation models. The model that suits you best will depend on a number of factors but especially how often you travel and where you travel. You can also buy a TomTom app which, while it isn’t cheap at £45, it is cheaper than other devices and generally considered better the standard navigation options on smartphones and mobile phones.

The Start 25 is considered the entry level model of TomTom Sat Nav. It has a 5” screen as well as an integrated mounting device. While the screen isn’t the largest it should prove more than adequate for typical use and access to features like free map updates and advanced lane guidance mean that it will prove equally as useful over a long distance journey as it is negotiating city centres.

Parking Assist is found in the majority of TomTom Sat Nav systems and, as the name suggests, it provides users with access to local parking information. It is possible to find parking that is local to your current destination or to your final destination which can greatly reduce travel time and stress.

The Go TomTom Sat Nav is at the top end of the range and it has a selection of screen sizes up to 6”. Unlike the other series, though, it provides hands free navigation so that you can speak your destination and the TomTom will tell you where to go. It has integrated mounting and it also has access to free lifetime map updates as well as a raft of other beneficial TomTom features. Go devices also offer 3D maps and updated traffic information while offering smartphone connectivity.

Not only do TomTom devices help plan your journey but they can help ensure that you get there quickly and in one piece. Speeding alerts tell you when you are over the speeding limit and you can also enjoy access to details of where speeding cameras are located. Safety warnings can inform you when you are approaching schools, remind you not leave the device in your car, and even turn off the map view when you are going above the speed limit.

Between the Go and Start series there is also the Via series. This offers voice activated navigation and can even be used as a hands free kit for your mobile phone while you’re on the go. You receive the same free lifetime map upgrades as you do with other devices and this allows you to update your maps four times every year for the full lifetime of the device. Updates include details of addresses, route changes, and any changes to Points of Interest.

Whichever TomTom Sat Nav you choose, you are assured of a high quality and highly beneficial device with many options. You should consider how often you use your navigation system and your budget to determine which is the best device for your needs.
