Brand Marketing Center (BMC) An APSense Application

by Don Dousharm Entrepreneur, Publisher

BMCOne of the most important aspects of building business is how our customers and clients perceive us. I am a firm believer that the more you define your business the better the understanding as well as consistency when it comes down to word of mouth.

Wincer introduced an application to me the other day and asked if I would test it out and tell him what I think. Needless to say I instantly fell in love with BMC. This application is designed with the new business owner in mind and works very well for the seasoned pro as well. In the next section of this article I will be talking about the new application on APSense called Brand Marketing Center or BMC for short. If you are running a business online or off you will probably want to read this all the way through.

Let’s start with the title of the app, Brand Marketing Center. The title is exactly what the app is all about. “Building your business brand”.  I think the best way to start this off is with the concept behind branding and how to go about it in the first place.

Access Your BMC Here

From Beginning To Eternity

The first thing you will see is this statement “Create your brand page in less than 5 minutes”  and they really mean it but I would spend more time on the app than 5 minutes… Trust me on this, you will want to spend much more time fine tuning and being creative. I spent at least 3 hours trying different things just to get the look and feel just right.

Have a look at my BMC I created the other day

You will be taken through a wizard that will walk you through every aspect from start to finish. Here is what is involved.

Basic Info: You will be required to give basic information about your business like the name, web address and a brief statement about what your business is all about. Don’t worry because you will be able to go back and edit your information later.

You will be required to add a brand logo. It will tell you that you will only be able to upload a Gif or Jpeg but Png works well also so make sure you do this.

You will then be taken to a background editor where you can get as creative as you like. You can see a sample of my BMC Here. Take the time and really think this through because the whole concept behind BMC is to market your brand. I don’t know about you but what I do reflects on my business and I want to be sure everything is in good taste.

Next you will be adding your social media’s feed also any rss feed you may have from your blog. You will be given a list and a form to add your feed information. This is a very important step so don’t pass this by.

You will be taken to a screen that will allow you to add related websites and posts but make sure that they are connected in some form or another to your business or website and about your business or website.

Next you will be taken to a screen where you can add videos related to your business. If you don’t have any videos you may want consider making one or having one made for you. Remember that the whole point of this is to create your brand and represent your business.

There is also a section where you can get badges for your website or blog. I would suggest you do so. I am personally looking into a way to add a badge indo a signature somehow and using BMC as the hub that leads to everything my business is about.

Well that is the basics. You are now ready to move into building and shaping your branded business. Make sure you are ready to do just that. Put aside the time and get creative. After all, this is your business, your brand and you want to best represent and present yourself.

Look for some tutorials and videos that I am sure will follow but in the mean time if you have any questions I will be glad to answer them and if I don’t have the answers I will be sure to relay them to the APSense Developers.

PS

Make sure you connect with other BMC owners and help populate your business.

This is a comprehensive review, and a very useful introduction to BMC Don. Thanks for taking the time and sharing. One little, but I think significant, hint is to choose the Brand Name carefully as that Brand must be used in the title of web pages that are linked in the webs section.

Very good point Neville, I am glad you mentioned it... I have already run into that issue with ECP as the domain name is excopub. I will not be allowed to use it unless my brand name is in the link. Thanks for the compliment and the heads up. It is very helpful and appreciated...

I mention it in the video I did about BMC, as I encountered the problem when trying to add blog posts on my Brand page

Another solution is to edit the page title to include the Brand Name. I have installed an SEO plugin on my Grey Nomads site that can allow me to do that. If you spell the Brand name correctly! That's another story!

Not sure what you mean, Neville. Your plug-in allows you to change the post URL ?

No Philippe. It means I can change the Title of the post and that is what needs to have the same as the Brand page title.

Thanks Vishwajeet, Look for a new article today on the ranking system as it will help to clarify many questions. BMC is an intricate piece of work focused on true branding and the point system will open eyes for those of us willing to commit to our business. This is what I like most about APSense as Wincer has a way of building tools that are not only productive but are great teaching tools as well.

In order to complete Step 2 you must have access to the code for your website and if you are marketing a brand for a product you affiliate with, that is not possible. Are you saying you must create a new pre-sales of your own for your product in order to complete this step?

I would say that is accurate Warren. The only way to install the code is to have access to the html or in the case of a blog like blogger or Wordpress or any other platform you can just install the code as a widget using text. It is not required to install a badge though, It is optional.

I am having a problem. "The Brand Name was not found on the destination web". I have tried all the possible name I can but did not succeed. I just can't figure out what's wrong. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Well Edly, It sounds to me like you are not including your bmc title in your h1, h2 or h3 title tags of your post. I think you are trying to add to your Webs section. If that is the case then follow what I just told you. It also helps to add your BMC title in your title on your blog posts. If that is not what you are saying then please give us more detail like what it is you are doing that is causing that error message...
