by Shivendra Saxena Foodie

Everybody dreams to be treated as a king, and what better place to get this wish fulfilled than a luxurious restaurant? A salute on entry, a chauffeur to worry about parking your car, magnificent seating inside and the waiters which treat you with utmost respect make such experiences nothing short of royal. Such diners are perfect if you're going out on a date, first or fifty first, formal dinner with your colleagues or client meetings. Here are the names of a few restaurants in London where you can eat lavishly in splendour.

The Square

To say that The Square has earned two Michelin stars is enough to reflect its high standard and reputation. Run by the celebrity chef, Philip Howard, it serves luscious French cuisines. If you want a taste of French elegance, order the neatly dressed Salad of Pickled Artichokes which comes along with Salsify and Purple Kholrabi with Sheep's Curd, Perigord Truffle and Pear. The Roast Saddle of Venison with Smoked Kromeski, Chervil Root, Smoked Creamed Potato and Red Wine is the most delicious and filling meal off the main course. A French dinner is incomplete without wine and to fill that gap The Square has a 92 page menu for wines. 92 pages and a 1000 different options! After you're done with the dinner, it's a guarantee that your first reaction will be très bien!

Clos Maggiore

Often cited as the best restaurant for a romantic dinner in London, Clos Maggiore won't disappoint you if you are going for a special date. People talk about love being in the air, this is a place where you can actually feel it. The ambiance is terrific as the restaurant is wood-panelled and you can also dine in a room decorated with infinite white flowers, fairy lights and perfectly placed mirrors to give an appearance of a mystical forest. The staff is well trained to make you feel comfortable during your entire sitting. Prior bookings can be made to book the perfect corner and to customize the look of your table. Even the food, which mostly includes French cuisines, is spruced up to make it more exotic and presentable for the occasion. A variety of wines is available to cheer for your love.

Dinner By Heston Blumenthal

Heston Blumenthal is considered a prodigy by all of those who are familiar with his cooking. Dinner is his new venture and has already sent those who haven't dined there yet into a frenzy owing to the immense hype it has received.  It is the epitome of luxury dining in London. The concept is based on Heston's obsession with the style of cooking which has been prominent over the last 500 years. The interior is grand, so much that one might feel agoraphobic if the place is not too crowded. The top favourite item of the menu is the bizarre but delicious Meat Fruit. Covered by orange mandarin jelly skin it has a parfait made from chicken livers, white port, foie grass, brandy, ruby port and madeira. The spiced pigeon with ale and artichokes is the best among the main course. The desserts Tipsy Cake and Taffety Tart will leave you savouring the sweet taste of luxury.

The Grill at Dorchester

If you are looking to throw a party for a massive achievement, or you have to flaunt your class to impress someone special, there is no better place than The Grill at Dorchester. Right before you enter, you can see some of world's most expensive cars. The interiors look as if you've entered a majestic Scottish castle and you may even bump into a famous celebrity as it not a very uncommon sight. The meal starts with around 6 different types of bread and unique variety of butters like olive, brown sugared, and chocolate flavoured. A lobster burger would become your immediate favourite when the first bite melts inside your mouth. A different wine is served with each dish and none of the combinations would disappoint. The meal won't finish at dessert as it is followed by petit fours, apparently as a token of thanks.

The Ledbury

A two-star Michelin restaurant which serves British food in a highly sophisticated manner in London, would obviously become a favourite of the masses. The Ledbury has been rated as the fourteenth best restaurant in the entire world! There is an option of having wine with each course which includes sumptuous dishes such as Chantilly of Colchester Oysters with a Tartare of Scallop and Oyster, Flame Grilled Mackarel with Smoked Eel, Celtic Mustard and Shisho and Pork Cheek cooked in Pedro Ximenez with Puffed Grains Certainly gourmet! The taste of the dessert Pave of Chocolate with Milk Puree and Lovage Ice Cream is so fascinating you would wish it lingers in your mouth forever.
