How To Be A Great Wedding Guest

There is much more when one goes to attend a wedding. For a guest, a wedding is much more than getting dressed up, partying all night long, wedding gifts for couples, and shedding a few tears. There are some more duties that a guest needs to perform. Read this article to know more about the duties of a wedding guest. 

When you receive an invite don’t let it get lost on the table. Check all the dates and timings of the functions, consult the time and then decide if you will attend. The couple needs to know who is coming to give their vendors a final head count no later than few weeks before the wedding. 

Dress to make yourself confident and smart. If it’s a spring, wear a pretty suit, a light-colored suit is perfect for women and men should wear tie and shirt with jeans or pants. Black is also an option for weddings, a black dress is perfect for an evening wedding. Female wedding guests should not wear white as it is considered extremely impolite to take away from the bride on her day by wearing her color. If there is any dress code, go with that. 

Wedding gifts for couples are the toughest task. Always send a gift when you accept a wedding invitation, if you can’t make the wedding. Try to send or gift something which will be useful for the couples. The wedding gift should be sent to the address the couple has given their invitation, don’t bring it to the venue. 

You should get to the ceremony on time and this is not a party to be late for. Never consider ditching the ceremony and just showing up for the reception. You should arrive 30 minutes before the ceremony time printed on the invitation. 

The first thing you will see at the reception is the receiving line. Don’t blow it off this is your opportunity to talk one on one with the couple. Meet the couples and thank their parents for inviting you. Remember, if it is a large wedding, you might not get a chance to chat with the couple for long. Don’t spend too much time, just sat a heartfelt congrats, shake a few hands and proceed.
