Beautifying Your Space on the Occasion of Diwali – The Ideas!
by Astro Ved Online Astrology ConsultationDiwali is one of the
most significant Hindu festivals, plus it is the time of the year where people
consider cleaning, painting, and decorating their homes. As per the beliefs,
Goddess Laxmi, on the night of Diwali, visits the homes and sanctifies them
with prosperity and fortune. Thus people always adorn their homes to welcome
the Goddess as well as to beautify it.
Well, other than
cleaning and painting, decorating the home with Diwali-themed ideas is also
significant. The décor should speak for itself, and that means you should
implement some wonderful Diwali decoration ideas into your home.
Let's start here with
some amazing ideas-
Rangoli for Diwali
Rangolis are patterns
made of powdered colors. There are many rangoli designs out there that you can
Google, and also, there are booklets for beginners. These rangolis can be made
with many materials colored sawdust, chalk, or the rangoli colors available in
the market.
There are several
props available, too, in which you need to fill up the color, and your design
will be ready. Drawing it in the courtyard always catches attention; draw
rangoli in the Puja room, the hall, and terrace. Simple designs like Swastik
and feet of Goddess Laxmi are always considered auspicious.
Diyas, Candles, and Lamps
Diwali arrives on the
night of Amavasya. Thus it is a practice to light up the whole house to keep
any negativity at bay. Let there be light, lamps, diyas, fairy lights, or
whatever you find attractive to illuminate the place.
Decorate every corner
and space with aromatic candles or something unique. You can also try DIY ideas
such as box lights. Make the boxes using colorful papers, and pack each light
bulb in one box. Paper cup light is another trend that will look mesmerizing.
Buy colorful paper cups of one pattern and hang each light bulb per paper cup.
Wine bottles bring
another fabulous idea for lighting. All you have to do is insert tiny light
bulbs inside them, hang them to the ceiling, and light them up. Or you can also
cut the base and insert big halogen bulbs for a big illuminating presentation.
Different corners of the home can be adorned differently!
Make it Bloom with
Flowers
Flowers can be another
great arrangement to make your Diwali décor charming. You can even make rangoli
designs using flowers and light up diyas or lamps around it. Craft a big
flower-like design on the entrance and place diyas all around it.
You can also make
garlands and hang them on each door. Take them through the stairs to the floor
along with strings of light to keep it magnificent at night. Next, you can
arrange big bowls, pour some water, and drop the flowers into it. Light it up
by placing tealight or floating candles, and it would be awe-inspiring.
Hanging Paper Diyas
You can choose one to
two colorful papers and make a Diya-like design. Tie them together with a
thread and hang it by a wall or anywhere specifically. Hanging Diyas made out
of paper would be an economical and beautiful looking edition for Diwali. To
make a more attractive design, add a flame too while cutting the paper.
DIY Lampshades
The next DIY thing is
lampshades. By using some colorful papers, you can make these shades in which
you can place lamps then. For this, you would need to cut the paper into
rectangular pieces and fold it in a cylindrical design so it can stand easily.
Carve some holes in the paper in flower patterns, and place Diya inside it.
When you light up the Diyas, the papers' patterns will be visible, beautifying
these folds very well.
Glass Lamps
This one is going to
look fantabulous if you get the candles right. You would need some glasses like
wine glasses. Fill them with water almost to the top. Take some artificial or
real colorful flowers and place them in the water or at the bottom. You would
need floating candles that you can buy or make at home so that they will float
on the water, and now you need to light these Diyas and watch the show.
There are many more ideas that you can experiment with this Diwali. Bringing all these ideas together and setting up in the right place and manner will surely make your home look like paradise.
