Just as every other product comes with a certain set of identification marks, humans too come with a set off unique planetary patterns and positions which are summarized in documents called Horoscopes which form the basis of all astrological calculations done during a person’s lifetime.

Horoscopes, which are often interchangeably, called natal Charts primarily store astronomical data in the form of position of planets, their paths, the lunar nodes as well as the proximity of individual planets to certain constellations, based on which people are assigned their zodiac signs or nakshatras as well as placed in specific ganas like the Deva and Rakshasha. It would thus not be incorrect to say that horoscopes, devoid of their astrological value are mere data sheets with astronomical positions noted in them.

When making Horoscopes, astrologers always ask for a person’s Date of Birth, Time of Birth as well as Place of Birth, all of which is used to determine the position of planets as seen from a particular longitude and latitude. These data sets are also asked for when astrological suggestions are sought from various astrology sites.

As astrology is a very ancient science, the practice of making Horoscopes has been in existence ever since as, while other methods are used these days, in the olden days it was only the knowledge of planetary positions that was relied upon due to which ancient astrologers used to spend years studying and perfecting the art before taking positions as astrologers in courts of kings.

These natal charts or birth charts are prepared right at the time of a person’s birth and are usually consulted when astrologers are sought to ask for remedies to certain issues as well as during the pre marriage scrutiny time when the Ashtkoot or Kundali milan is done.

While initially these natal charts were drawn in specially made Palmyra leaves, as time evolved, papers of special kinds and cloth strips replaced the leaves as these materials could be stored away easily without the fear of any damage. These days however, Horoscopes can even be made with the help of computers as with the advancement in technology certain software have been devised which help in creating these natal charts with equal efficiency as that of an astrologer.

Astrology can thus be stated as a science that involves the study and analysis of various heavenly bodies and their positions as, if scientifically analyzed, the gravitational pull of planets have an impact on the human body which has a very high water content just as they have on the water bodies around the world.

The position of planets as seen in these natal charts also play a very important role when astrologers suggest people certain gemstones that are known to positively effect a person’s time. The relation between the planetary positions and gemstones all the more become poignant as astrologers usually suggest wearing these only at a specific time which may coincide with the auspicious position of planets that may have been responsible for the good or bad effects.

Horoscopes after being made should also be stored away safely and should not come in the hands of people who may have intentions of causing any harm as these documents are as good as a blue print of a person’s life.
