Art Can Really Change The World
by Abhinav K. Digital Marketing Expert, FreelanceWe hear around us, on social media, tv, online magazines how art
changes the world and inspires people. But people don't understand how
this is happening and how we can contribute. In a TED talk I learnt
about a street artist who inspired me to think outside the box when it
came to art and to exceed you limits in art.
JD takes pictures
of people, makes posters out of them and pastes them around the city.
It first started in Paris a year later his photos had gone from being
just photos to an exhibition in the city hall.
During the
Middle east conflict he decided to go there to see for himself how it
was He decided to take portraits that show Palestinian and an Israelis
doing the same job, put these photos next to each other in 16 Israeli
and Palestinian cities. This was the biggest illegal art exhibition
however the outcome was shocking. Nobody could not tell who was who. The
point was to show that we are all same no matter our identity. This
project was called Face to Face and 4 years later these photos still
stayed up which proved the impossible was easily possible. best online magazine
He
then traveled to places with no museum and art. He was inspired to make
a project about men paying tribute to woman “Woman areheros”. He went
to a favela in Rio where a tragic incident had taken place, three kids
was brutally murdered. He started taking photos of the family that were
linked to the kids that were killed. The artist was trying to show the
energy and life of the favela and to shout out the story of the three
kids to create awareness. These photos were pasted all around the
favela, attention came from media, online magazine and various social groups.
Sierra
Leone,Kenya, Sudan are examples of few of other places he traveled
taking pictures. In some slums he decided to cover roofs of houses by
printing the images on vinyl instead. Soon everywhere around the world;
New York, London India, people wanted their photo to be taken, their
story to be heard and travel the world.
This inspiring artist
has exceeded limits in helping and making a change in the world with no
NGO or any organizational support. All he wants for help is for people
to participate, by taking pictures about their passions and sharing them
online on his site Inside Out. modern woman magazine
