Amsterdam : Explore the most Liberal City in the World

by John Parker Traveler

Known as the Venice of the North for its admirable canal system, Amsterdams beauty is synonymous to a canvas painting, every spot is beautifully settled from delightful little streets and atmospheric lanes to art museums and many architectural marvels.

One cannot explore the most liberal city in the world thoroughly, as it has so much more to offer. Check out these places to hangout when you are in Amsterdam, and I am quite certain that you wont be disappointed. If you have already visited Amsterdam, but want to go again then look for Virgin Atlantic flight reservations and make sure to travel these places on your next visit.

 Amsterdamse Bos

Amsterdamse Bos spans almost 1000 hectares, with a vast tract of woods, lakes and meadows crisscross by-paths. The entire view of the forest is really mesmerizing for nature lovers, as it will keep you away from the city crowd. During dawn the place is quiet and beautiful, while the sun beams through the crisscross trees is a view to capture and remember life long. Spring season is the best time to visit this place, as when adorned with colorful cherry blossom flowers, the beauty of the forest glorifies.

 Amsterdam Canal Tour

If you have few days in Amsterdam, a cruise tour along the canal would offer an outstanding view of many tourist attractions. You can opt for a day cruise or a night cruise, and moreover the hop-on-hop-off canal bus and the pizza cruise are an addition to such cruises. Get romantic down by the canal or visit this city during Valentines day, as a romantic dinner or a candlelight cruise is best for such tourists. Many online portals offers canal tour tickets at low prices, but also make sure you purchase Virgin Atlantic tickets and reservations for Amsterdam.

 Brown Cafes

Dutch Cafes arent really cafes but they are coffee shops with a pun. These brown cafes showcases cannabis culture with balanced atmosphere of hustling bar and laid-back bars. The smoke-stained walls (now you know why the name brown cafe), dim candle lights, country music, friendly barman and lots of chilled-beer; these cafes are some of the most enchanting places to go in Amsterdam.

 Take a Bike Tour

One of the best thing about Amsterdam is its fresh and clean air. The locals of this city prefer a bicycle to move around the city. Since, the sound of the noisy traffic is nowhere in the city, the ambiance is quite peaceful and soothing. You can even opt for a bike tour to view the entire city or hire a bike and explore the city on your own.

 Spot Tiny Hidden Houses

You cannot go inside these houses, but these houses are surely difficult to spot in Amsterdam. These tiny houses are hidden between the walls, isolated lanes and many other places. But they are worth if you find it out and make sure to ask a local about the story behind these mini-houses. And no, we will not tell you!

 Floating Flower Market

Locally known as Bloemenmarkt, this is the only floating flower market in the world founded in 1862. Widely recognized as the mother of tulip flowers, Amsterdam floating market is a treat to eyes, with thousands of colorful flowers and different variety of plants makes it a great place to visit. The market is always in bloom during all seasons, but during Christmas the market is decorated beautifully with Christmas trees and lights.

So in case you havent seen these places before, alter your travel itinerary and check Virgin Atlantic flight reservations to Amsterdam.
