Amazon introduces Amazon Machine Learning (AML) service to enable developers without deep scientific experience to create models and make predictions using the service.

Amazon.com Web Services has really occupied the cloud computing business and has launched Amazon Machine Learning services at AWS summit held in San Francisco, California, this service is alike to that announced by Microsoft last year known as “Azure Machine Learning” service. Andy Jassy, Amazon cloud business head talked about the new service at San Francisco.

Amazon with its latest launch is currently in a situation to contest both Microsoft Corporation and International Business Machines in the service sector. Amazon needs its new development to enable developers to take benefit of machine learning even if they don’t have much expertise in data science.

The AML is intended in a way to support developers to establish applications driven by data that will help them to find out what happened in the past and what’s happening in real time. The new service has the aptitude to project what will happen in the coming future.

The online streaming company, Netflix Inc. has been taking assistance of Amazon Web Services to carry out the machine learning previously. Mr. Jassy said, it is AWS and hard work, thus wanted a learning service machine that works without the requirement of scientific skills by the operator.

The latest service by Amazon will allow the developers to use all their past data too in order to enhance the decision making quality. Developers are allowed to use large number of data to make analytical models and then bring them to the Amazon ML service, which will help them to make predictions about future.

It is going to cost nearly 10 cents for each batch forecast that institutes around 1,000 predictions. Real time forecasting will have an additional cost for hourly reserved volume. The main idea behind Amazon ML service was to avoid the exhaustive experience needed for statistical study, model building and data cleaning. When making a model, the developer stipulates the size of the memory that can be utilize for every model made to cope the memory size cost and to control analytical performance.

After the launch of this service, market watchers are now keeping their eyes on how other technology firms like Google Inc. which are entrenched in the business of cloud computing technology are going to respond to the new development by Amazon Inc. and previous development of Microsoft.  Both Microsoft and Amazon have accomplished to launch services, which anyone can use to build models and make forecasts irrespective of their scientific experiment.
