All about the Land Rover Range Rover SUV

The Range Rover is a 4×4 SUV first introduced in 1970 by the British car manufacturer Land Rover. It was initially released as a 3-door model with the production of 5-door models starting in the early 1980s. The 1st generation was produced from 1970 to 1996, the 2nd generation between 1994 to 2002, the 3rd generation from 2002 to 2012, and the 4th generation were launched in 2012 to the present. Land Rover offers its expanded line namely: the Range Rover Evoque which was released in July 2011, Range Rover Velar that was unveiled in March 2017, and Range Rover Sports which came into production in 2004.

Interior & Features

The Autobiography model is fitted with a beautifully designed dash, heated steering wheel, and panoramic roof. It is the most luxurious on the lineup with 24-way adjustable heated, four-zone climate control, massaging, cooled front seats, ebony quilted perforated semi-aniline leather upholstery, and a cabin with a remote system. The Range Rover also offers an array of safety equipment including a full set of airbags, ABS, ESP, seat belt reminders, automated emergency braking, Standard forward-collision warning, adaptive cruise control, trailer stability control, blind-spot monitoring, and optional Standard lane-departure warning.

The Range Rovers offer an option of Executive Class Seating layout at the back with 2 individual chairs with 40 degrees of recline and a powered center console which can be a 3rd middle seat. Also, include 3 zone ambient lighting and multimedia options such as a 1,700w 29-speaker Meridian stereo, a 13-speaker plus subwoofer 380W in Range Rover Vogue, and 19 speakers plus a subwoofer and 825Win Autobiography and Vogue SE. 


Engines & Performance

The Range Rover comes with 3.0L SDV6 V6 producing 271 bhp between 3,500 and 4,250 rpm from just 1,500 rpm and delivers 0-62mph in a completely acceptable 7.9 seconds with a top speed of 130mph. Also offers 2 supercharged petrol engines, 2 diesel engines, mild-hybrid, and plug-in versions with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The Rover is equipped with four-wheel disc brakes, coil springs as opposed to leaf springs, and permanent four-wheel drive.
