by Masashi S. JDM Enthusiast

The Toyota Venza is a five-door crossover SUV that was first introduced in 2008 and was mainly sold to the North American market. The Venza is now in its second generation, with some significant changes from the first to the second generation.

First Generation (2008 – 2019)

The Toyota Venza was revealed in 2008 for the 2009 model year and was based on the K platform of the XV40 Camry series and Toyota Highlander. The exterior was not very stylish but offered comfortable and convenient features. It comes with fog lights, a power liftgate, and 19-inch (20-inch) wheels. The Venza is a five-seat car with a comfortable and spacious cabin with high entry and exit points as well as a raised roof that creates a better head and an immense cargo area, while the rear folding seats provide an option for expanding the cargo bay.

The 2009 Venza was available in a single trim (Touring and Premium). Standard features include an 8-way power driver’s seat, steering-wheel-mounted audio controls, XM satellite radio, 6-disc CD changer, dual-zone climate control, electrochromic auto-dimming, rear-view mirror, HomeLink, Hill-Start assist control, and the Toyota Star Safety System. The Venza offers a 2.7L petrol engine or a 3.5L V-6 petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

In 2012, the Venza had a mid-cycle facelift with slight changes in its facial looks and was available in LE, XLE, and Limited trim levels. It featured short overhangs, a forward-raked A-pillar, and a low roofline. Inside, it came with a two-tone dashboard, and a shift stick mounted on the driver’s side. The cabin is spacious with plenty of head, leg, knee, and foot room. The 60/40 split-folding rear bench extends the cargo area from 1.025 liters to 1,988 liters.

Second Generation (2020 – Present)

The second-generation Venza was unveiled in 2020 and was a rebadged version of the Japanese-based Toyota Harrier XU80. The Venza was only available in an all-wheel-drive hybrid layout with LE, XLE, and Limited trims. The exterior features slim LED headlights with automatic high beams, a lower front bumper, and an expansive grille integrated at the center of the bumper. You will find LED taillights and a hands-free liftgate at the rear.

The interior offer noticeable features including an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, analog instrument cluster, dual-zone automatic climate control, USB ports, satellite radio, wireless phone charging, power tilt/telescoping steering column, and an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat. The Venza is equipped with a 2.5L Atkinson cycle petrol engine mated to an electric motor and hybrid batteries producing 219 hp with an eCVT transmission.

The Toyota Venza is a very outstanding and useful car in many ways, with its impressive reliability, dependability, durability, and efficiency. So, check out the Toyota Venza stocklist if you are looking for a wagon-like car or a midsize SUV.
