BMW Instrument Pixel Ribbon

1. The instrument cluster units in the BMW E38, E39 and X5 models from 1994-2003 are quite similar, (they were all produced by Siemens VDO), using the same LCD and the same ribbon cable at all models.

2. There are minor differences, like diesel or petrol powered ones, and also some speedos come with miles others with km/hrs, however the LCD and the ribbon cable is the same at all 5 series (E39) 7 series (E38) and X5 (E53) models.

Soldering Iron

1. Soldering Iron is the special Iron for replacing pixel ribbon cable.

2. Pixel repair (flat cable) is to replace the digital panel, which is within the instrument panel.

3. Electric Soldering Iron is glued with a soldering iron with a tip (T) with the teflon base not to burn the flat cable is taken from the old flat cable and sticks to the new with the soldering iron with teflon base.

Note: Remember to remove the paper that comes dressed in new flat cable
