Age criteria for admission in Nursery School
by Pawan Yadav BloggerDeciding the right age to put your child in a pre-school/playgroup is a difficult decision to make for new parents. Every parent has different opinions, regarding the age, for enrolling their kids in preschools.
However, most parents choose preschool admission between the ages of 1.5 years / 2 years to 2.5 years. Moreover, it depends on how mentally or physically prepared your child is when it comes to adapting to a new environment, that they are not familiar with.
A lot of advantages come along when it comes to joining a preschool, one of them is that it helps the kid to adopt social, mental, physical, and academic skills, and at the same time help children to interact with other kids and adults.
Not only that, but the teachers in preschools also introduce their students to pre-literacy and pre-math skills.
Many researchers show that it is not an admirable situation for kids to attend a preschool as young as 1 year old. In thane and Mumbai, most of the preschools start their admission procedure around the age of 2.
Most of the educationists, academic experts and psychologists opine that children should experience an environment and surround themselves with a group of supportive and friendly teachers and enroll them in best schools like MLSI (Mount Litera School International) at an age of 1.5 years or 2 years.
However, some parents, for some reasons may enroll their kids in preschool at 3 years of age. But, 3-years, is also a time, when most of the children start taking admission in kindergarten and elementary school. Thus, the age of 1.5 years to 2 years is the most preferable.
The age eligibility criteria for admission in nursery according to MLZS is 2 years and 6 months.
