Advanced Cataract Treatment clinic in Malaysia

Many improvements have been made in cataract surgery over the last many years. Several years ago, when a patient had cataract treatment, he/she had to be hospitalized for weeks. The patient had to remain immobilized, and the result was often suspicious.

In modern day, hardly any cataract treatment is performed in the hospital. Ideally, they are done in office-based surgery centers, which are more productive. The recovery time has been extensively reduced to almost overnight. In most cases, the patients have their sharp vision the very next day. With a small injection, the whole surgery is performed, and this is the reason that the patients do not find their eyes getting red.

With an outpatient surgery center, it is also likely to have effective control over all the variables and centered on one particular treatment such as cataracts. This cataract treatment has been improved with the perfect use of topical anesthesia in which numbing eye drops are used to numb the eyes instead of giving an injection with a long needle around and behind the eyes. Moreover, the procedure of using topical anesthesia doesn’t cause pain and discomfort that usually comes with the incision. However, still many cataract surgeons are using that old procedure of using the needle injection. In addition to the slight pain and inconvenience to the patient from the needle injection, this also eradicates the complications of perforation of the eye, retinal hemorrhage and optic nerve atrophy that is associated with the injection.

Besides, as the wound is inactive and the eye is not anesthetized with needle injections, it is no longer required to patch the eye after the surgery. Patients are usually surprised at how much better their vision is, especially colors, even as they are able to walk out of the room. Nowadays, it is not unusual for people who have had cataract surgery and now can see as good as 20/20. And the patients can return to their work the next day and the problem of cataract is removed permanently with such treatment.

Cataract surgery has had exciting advances over the last many years, and still, it is expected to be increased in future too.Luckily, in the United States, we are not yet under the restraint of a system of socialized treatment, and most patients still have, for the most part, the ability to continue to have their cataracts eliminated by the advantage of their health insurance.
