A Q&A Session with Your Barber

by Victoria Howell The barbershops and hair salons

For many guys, the need to pay attention to their hair treatment sounds strange. At the same time, every person likes to hear pleasant compliments about the gorgeous looking hair or new stylish haircut. In such moments, we all are proud of our mane and want our locks to last a lifetime. Unfortunately, it is impossible to preserve the natural beauty of your hair without proper hair care regimen. At barber shop New York Manhattan we have created a list of useful tips on how to look after your hair to get the lifetime results.

We decided to answer the most frequent question of our clients and, thereby, set up a guide for proper hair care regimen any man can follow.

#1 How often should I wash my hair?

We are used to wash hair when it is dirty. It doesn’t mean you should shampoo your hair every time your hair looks oily; we advise to use shampoo only when dirt has built up in the hair, and it’s unmanageable. In other cases, to give your hair a rinse with the conditioner will be enough. Barbers at barber shop New York Manhattan advise holding to shampooing hair 2-3 times per week.

#2 What type of shampoo to choose?

At the store, pay attention to the labels of shampoo bottles; search for a product created for your hair type. A good shampoo is designed without using sulfates and has a low lathering formula. Fortunately, most men’s hair products have no harming chemicals in the formula, so it will be quite easy to find an ideal shampoo.

#3 Should I use any conditioner?

Our answer is – ‘Absolutely, yes!’ The conditioner is an essential part of care for any type of hair. It helps to keep hair smooth and controlled. Usual conditioner should be applied every time you wash your hair, or when you have a shampoo-free day. We are sure you have seen or even used a shampoo-conditioner combo. It can be an alternative, but don’t make it a habit. Deep conditioning treatment is better to use once a week for restoring damaged locks.

#4 Which styling products should I prefer?

It depends on the type of haircut you have and the way you want to style it; it is individual for every man. The best way to solve the question is to go to your barber. No, you should not go to your barber every day. Next time you visit barbershop, don’t forget to ask your hairdresser about the styling products suitable for your case. Nobody knows everything better about your hair type, haircut, and products which work on it.

#5 How often should I cut my hair?

It is one of the most popular questions among our clients. Barbers at our barbershop recommend going for a cut every three to four weeks to keep hair looking and feeling great. To stay looking sharp between usual cuts, you can stop by the barber and ask him to give you a quick neck-hairline trim.

As you can see, to keep a great and healthy head of hair is not a difficult task with just a little of knowledge.
