A duh moment about YouTube

by Philippe Moisan Video Champions, APSense Mentor I have a YouTube account since November 2009. As many of you know, I have created a lot of videos. I have almost 150 videos right now. The first few videos were personal, than I started doing screencast videos about online marketing and also to teach APSense features. Then I started doing some live videos about network marketing subjects.

Here and there, some people told me, or said in articles, that YouTube is also a social network. I sort of knew it, but I'm so active at APSense, Facebook and some other sites that I keep forgetting about the social network features of YouTube.

Well, this morning, I noticed the little (1) besides the Inbox link, when clicking on my username phmoisan at the top right. I clicked on "Inbox".

Duh...

There were people who sent me messages, or commented on my videos, or added me as contacts. Not a ton, but at least a dozen of each. It went back to November 2011.

I did check this here and there in the past, but I had never noticed we can click on "See all comments" in some places.

Another duh...

I just gave feedback to people who wrote things to me, or asked questions.

A few days ago, I saw that I'm getting close to 10,000 views on my YouTube channel phmoisan. I am now taking things seriously about getting more views for my videos. I will also be more present as a member of the YouTube social network. I hope to see you there as well as here.

Oh, by the way, some of you talk to me but don't use the same picture or username as here. I respond to you, but I like to name people. I don't say things like "thanks, video2". So please, if you write comments to me, let me know who you are if you wish to let me know you are a member of APSense too. Thanks!
