7 Simple Steps to Prepare Yourself to Sell Wellness Products Through Network Marketing

by BonKind Wellness Wellness Company

Network marketing, also known as “networking” or “relationship” selling, is a business model that revolves around recruiting other people to sell your products as well as signing up to sell those same products yourself. It’s a different kind of sales job, which means it requires different skills and tactics. Network marketing follows a specific set of principles, techniques, and methods that are designed not just to make you money but rather to help you build long-lasting relationships with your customers so they keep coming back again and again. Many people have negative connotations when it comes to network marketing because they associate it with pyramid schemes or with dodgy operators trying to make money at the expense of their friends and family. However, there are also many great examples of solid and reputable network marketers who are operating ethically by providing value for their customers.

Build your network before you try to sell anything

If you’re going to try to sell products through network marketing, you need to build your network first. You can’t expect to be able to sell to people if they don’t know who you are or even that you exist. This means joining or creating a network marketing group. You need to find other people who are interested in the same products as you, so they’re likely to be interested in what you have to say. You can do this through online forums, Facebook groups, and LinkedIn groups as well as through your contacts.

Create trust and credibility with your prospects

Some network marketers try to sell as soon as they meet someone new, but this is rarely a good idea. The best way to start building a relationship with a prospect is by finding ways to help them out, not by trying to make a sale. This means listening to what people are saying and finding ways to help them with their problems, answering questions they have, and generally being of service to others. Your prospects must trust you before they’ll buy from you. They must feel confident that you have their best interests at heart. They must feel like you genuinely care about their success. If you don’t have a built-in network of prospective customers, you can still find ways to help others by volunteering your time through a charity or non-profit. Also, look for forums in your niche where you can start helping people with their problems and answering their questions.

Networking is about helping people; don’t try to sell too soon

Building a network is all about helping the people you meet by providing them with value. It’s not about selling to them as soon as you meet them. Many network marketers make the mistake of trying to sell as soon as they meet someone new, or even worse, during a one-on-one conversation. This is a big no-no. You’re likely to turn off your prospect by trying to sell too soon. They’ll feel like you’re not interested in their needs and that you’re only interested in making a sale. If you’re not careful, you could even put your prospect’s trust in you at risk, which could be devastating for your future business. You should try to make your first meeting with a new prospect as relaxed and casual as possible. Your goal at this point should be to simply get to know each other. You can set up a one-on-one meeting with a prospect in several ways. You could invite them to take part in an online webinar or teleseminar, or even suggest grabbing a coffee or lunch.

Show your prospect why they should buy from you, not just what they should buy

If you try to sell your product as soon as you meet someone new, you’re likely to come across as pushy and desperate. Your prospect could also feel like you’re trying to trick them into buying something they don’t want or need. This is a great way to get your prospect to lose trust in you and to have them shut down any further communication with you. Your goal at this stage is to show your prospect that you genuinely care about them and their needs. You want to show them that you’ve done your research and that you know what they need. You may also want to let your prospect know that you’d be willing to help them with their challenges free of charge. This shows your prospect that you care about them and their problems and that you aren’t simply trying to make a sale.

Be patient and grateful when dealing with rejection

Most prospects won’t buy from you the first time you try to sell to them. Most people don’t buy on impulse; they need time to think about their purchase and consider the options available to them. If you try to sell to every prospect you meet, you’ll likely alienate most of them before they can buy from you. Many network marketers make the mistake of only following up with their prospects once or twice. They make an initial sales pitch, and if the prospect doesn’t buy from them immediately, they move on to the next prospect. This is a great way to ensure that your business never takes off because you’ve alienated most of your prospects and you don’t have any way of following up with them to try to close the sale. All prospects need time to consider your offer and consider whether they want to buy from you. That’s why it’s a good idea to let them know that you appreciate their time and consideration and that you’ll follow up with them at a later date.

Bottom line: Network marketing takes time and effort to build relationships

Network marketing is all about building relationships with your potential customers. It’s not about making a quick sale and then moving on to the next prospect. It’s about taking the time to get to know people and helping them so they feel confident in purchasing from you when they are ready to buy. If you follow these simple steps and make building relationships with your prospects a priority, you’ll be well on your way to creating a successful network marketing business.
