6 Time Management Tips for Students

by Ardell Burnside writer
Whether you study at school or university, you face the same challenges: how to plan your time more effectively to maximize your success?

Start by asking yourself the following questions:

Do you feel that there is no balance in your life and you are overwhelmed?
Are you unable to find a balance between your personal life and your studies?
Do you feel stressed about your busy study schedule?
If you answered yes to any of these questions and the lack of time frustrates and saddens you, remember: if you manage your time effectively, you can study better, have more time for everything, and even socialize with friends.

Let's look at how to go from stress to learning success in just seven steps.

1. Making a task plan is the foundation of success
- Get smarter when you start creating lists of tasks for the day and setting goals for at least the next hour.
The smartest student knows their goals. The smartest student knows their goals in detail, they know exactly what they need to do to achieve them and what they will have to sacrifice.
2. Do the hard task first.
You can't have it both ways here - you can't manage your time effectively if you procrastinate. That's why this tip may be important to you. Start using it today!
If you're avoiding preparing a term paper. Once you finish the assignment you've been stubbornly avoiding, you'll pretty much have the rest of the day free.
3. The secret to your success is priorities.
Your secret to time management is the ability to allocate your energy according to your priorities so you can use it where you really need it.
You should never waste all your energy unnecessarily.
4. Find a permanent place for your keys - be successful in your studies and life
Time management is about organizing everything around you. Answer the following question, "At this very moment, do you know where your apartment keys lie?" If you don't know the answer, you're disorganized. And if you're disorganized, you're not using your time effectively!
Make small changes in your life and self-organize - find everything in its place.
5. Aim for success.
Feeling stressed about everything you have to do and be responsible for?
Fortunately, you have more control and options than you're used to thinking. The fact is, stress and time management go hand in hand in life, if you conquer one, you can conquer the other. Start by eliminating stress - every day or mark down a list of everything you accomplished, achieved, succeeded in this week!
By focusing on your progress-you reduce stress, and it will save you time.
6. Say goodbye to self-pity.
Feeling sorry for yourself is a waste of time. Do you really have time to play the role of victim? Chances are, you won't find that time in your busy schedule. Say goodbye to the whiner's mindset, regret yourself, and make room to do more and complete all the tasks on your to-do list.
