You probably have read that you can make money with adsense on a blog, and that you can earn thousands per month. You may have even been told that you can eventually quit your day job by working full time on the internet.
It sounds great, does it not? Who would not like to work at home and fire their boss, being fully in charge of their own destiny.
There are definitely ways to make money online and earning an income from home. People are doing it all over the world.
Unfortunately, it is not as easy as it seems, and it is much easier to lose money online than it is to make money. This, of course, is not to say that it cannot be done.
If you are not careful, you can join the masses of people, or the majority of people who lose money online with hopes of striking it rich and quitting their less than exciting day job.
Here are 10 ways to lose money online by making mistakes that could be costly, time consuming, and discouraging.
1. Purchase every e-book and online course on internet marketing and spending thousands of dollars just learning. After months, not putting any knowledge into action. This is also called "analysis paralysis".
Sometimes you must learn by doing. Start putting knowledge into action. Earn while you learn and do not keep reading until you become so tired that you move onto your next project.
2. Getting involved with internet network marketing scams by not doing your due diligence. Getting emotionally aroused by a website that promises great riches can cause you to be impulsive and lose your money in a bogus program.
Due your due diligence. Read, research, read and the research some more. Call people promoting this program and get the scoop. You can never have too much knowledge about what you are getting involved in.
3. Spending too much time on Facebook and on Skype and chatting away during the time where you need to be productive can cause a loss of potential revenue. If you do not use your time productively and practice time management it will effect your bottom line.
It is okay to chat and have fun socializing with others online. You just have to set a certain time to do it and discipline yourself. If not, you will waste hours upon hours and lose money online when you should be making money online.
4.Spending too much money on advertising can cause you to lose money when you are trying to earn an income from home on the internet.
You must analyze your advertising budget and not spend more in advertising then you are making. You could dig yourself a big hole before you know it, so think your advertising budget through with pen and paper. If not, you could go into the red very fast.
5. Getting involved with too many programs at once can cause you to lose money online by scattering your focus in different directions. Multiple streams of income are fine, but if these are 10 streams, you may be spreading yourself too thin.
Have a laser sharp focus in opportunities that have the most potential and are bringing you the most revenue. Trim off the fat with things that do not work and are costing you time and money with no reward.
These 5 ways to lose money online are based on some of my past experience in the industry. I still have a lot to learn, however, I did gain some wisdom from my mistakes.
