While having an unclear can definitely cause it, but oily scalp is commonly the result of excessive secretion of sebum from the sebaceous glands of the scalp. 1. Apple Cider Vinegar


Fungus is naturally found on all types of scalp but when this naturally occurring fungus grows out of control, it leads to oily and irritated scalp. Apple cider vinegar can work as a natural remedy as it has the ability to kill the growing bacteria and fungus. Just dilute 2-3 tablespoons of ACV in a cup of water and put it directly on your hair. You can make use of a spray bottle which will make the application process easier. You can follow this remedy two to three times a week.


2. Witch Hazel as a Scalp Astringent


Yep, you heard it right - an astringent for hair. Witch Hazel astringent will help to close up the pores of your scalp so that less oil is released. However, you do need those oils in a natural capacity so you wouldn’t want to use this remedy too much. You can apply the astringent directly onto your scalp before washing.


3. Use an Egg Yolk Hair Mask


You might have heard of this remedy before and it actually works. Egg yolks are a rich source of sulphur which is effective in relieving your scalp of dandruff and oil. They also contain protein and lecithin which helps in strengthening your hair and give them a shinier and softer appearance.


4. Tea Tree Oil for Oily Hair


Tea Tree essential oil is known for controlling sebum production. When your scalp produces too much oil, it combines with dead skin cells and clogs pores. This can lead to multiple skin problems such as acne and even cystic acne on the scalp. Tea tree oil’s antimicrobial and antibacterial property helps in eliminating fungus and keeps your hair oil-free and shiny!
