5 Reasons Why Jaskier is Geralt’s Best Mate in “The Witcher”

Are you also eagerly waiting for The Witcher Season 2? Well, that might be some time away, but meanwhile, we can remember the moments in which we truly got the essence of the whole issue. Yes, I am talking about some Jaskier moments which made us fall in love with the whole show.

Fans are so fond of the character that they have demanded ceaselessly that the character must return for Season 2. Some have gone as far as to say that if there is no Jaskier in Season 2, they will not watch Season 2.

Anyway, let us look at the five moments in which Jaskier proved that he is Geralt’s best friend.

Jaskier Never Leaves Geralt’s Side

Despite some of the ardent attempts made by Geralt of Rivia to scare Geralt off, he never leaves him. He sticks by his side through the thick and the thin and perhaps offers him a reason to smile in the world filled with darkness (apart from Yennefer, of course).

Jaskier Aided Geralt in a Fight

There is no denying that the more time Jaskier spends with Geralt, the better he will become in a fight. And he has even proved that he can take care of himself during one of the altercations. He stood his ground against the Sylvian, during which he and Geralt had first crossed paths.

However, nobody can argue that Geralt is more of his protector, and it is true that Jaskier needs Geralt as much as Geralt needs Jaskier.

They Travel Well Together

You can judge the bonding between two people based on how well they travel. And yes, the chemistry between Geralt and Jaskier comes to the forefront only when they sit on the horse and travel to the different parts of the world.

Furthermore, Geralt does not always have money, and there are times when Jaskier has to chip in with his singing talent (he is a bard) to provide food for both of them.

Jaskier will Never Betray Geralt

Jaskier is not a man of deceit. He is a man who appears to be. In a world filled with shadowy figures, he is a man just looking for some friendship and love—a true poet.

So, you cannot begin to comprehend how he will ever betray his best friend. And why would he do that? It is not possible.

Geralt and Jaskier Care About Each Other

They need each other. They met each other for a reason. Perhaps, Jaskier will be the storyteller of the incredible tale that has just started.

Furthermore, you can believe that Jaskier is a believer in fate since he describes himself as a true poet.

Now, you might have heard Geralt saying that he does not need a human in his life, and you would have also seen him behave in a way that gives you a feeling that he does not even need anyone to care about him either.

Even Jaskier’s nonchalance gives you an intuition that he also does not need anyone. However, both of the feelings are far from the truth. Both of them are lying. It becomes evident during the bathtub scene in Season 1 when Jaskier calls out Geralt for always lying to himself that he does not need anyone.

Both of them will run into each other again very early on in Season 2.

Conclusion

Joey Batey is probably the best singer and actor on the show. He is to Geralt what Sam is to Jon Snow and what Alfred is to Bruce Wayne.

And while five moments are not enough to describe their friendship, you can expect many more to come in Season 2 as Joey Batey has been confirmed for Season 2 along with Henry Cavill.

My money is on the prediction that he will be the one to reunite Geralt and Yennefer. Just wait for it.
