5 Easy Ways To Refresh The Bedroom

by Natalie W. Freelance Writer and Researcher

Your bedroom should be the most personal room in the house, created for peace and serenity. The results of your sleep should leave you feeling fresh and energised in the mornings, and your room is no exception when it comes to working towards that feeling. If you are starting to feel some resentment and a lack of comfort in your bedroom, it might be time to refresh thins. You do not need to necessarily have a fresh start, but there are some things that you might consider trying to achieve in a pristine room.

Declutter The Room

The biggest downfall for any un-fresh room is clutter. Having your clothing and general bedroom items scattered around furniture surfaces and even on the floors in dire situations is one of the biggest bedroom turn-offs. If you want to first make your bedroom look presentable you should clear out any unnecessary mess. If your wardrobe is exploding onto your bedroom floor you should consider donating any unnecessary clutter to charity. If you can not bear the thought of parting with your belongings, you should consider looking into new storage. If you have the space for it, you might introduce a new chest of draws to pair with your wardrobe. Another great organising investment would be to get draw organisers.

Bring In Some Fresh Scents

Nothing screams fresh like the pleasing scent of fresh linen. Ensuring your bedroom smells as good as it looks might just be the one thing that is missing from your fresh, sleep sanctuary. You can incorporate fresh scents through the use of candles, diffusers, incense, and also scented room sprays. Choose a scent that reflects relaxation and comfort to you, after all, it will be you spending most of your time sleeping there.

Bring In Some Greenery

An effective way to breathe some fresh air into your bedroom is to add some plants to it. Not only will your plants produce literal oxygen, but they instantly provide the appearance of freshness and serenity to any room in your home. If your room is also looking bland and lifeless, some greenery will be a useful contribution to bring earthy tones into any minimalistic room.

Get Some Fresh Bedding

It is time to throw away that old, stained, and holey bedding. Bedsheets are one of the biggest cosy contributors and ensuring that your bedsheets are looking polished and pristine all the time is essential for a fresh room. You should invest in some fresh white sheets, or if you do not have the budget for new sheets consider cleaning any of your stained sheets with baking soda. Surprisingly our beds carry a lot of bacteria, so you should be making sure your bed sheets are washed at least once a week. An extension of your sheets, if you have any sofas in the bedroom you should also make sure your cushion covers are cleaned or even replaced with luxury cushion covers.

Upgrade Your Mirrors

Bedrooms are not the only place for sleeping, they are also used as your personal fashion studio. You need to get ready in the morning and look your best, and if your mirrors are outdated or damaged in any way it is time to get them replaced. A large mirror can give off the appearance of a larger-looking room. Openness within a room is a reflective way to make your room look spacious, and therefore leaves more room for freshness.
