1. Tekkamaki

Nori, the constrained and dehydrated seaweed sheets are used as a cover, which holds all the ingredients together.

The sushi rice, with a considerably acidic taste, is spread on top of the nori, and the central part of the roll is a piece of raw tuna. Tender and soft, pink in colour and mild in flavour, tuna effortlessly balances the delicate flavours of nori and rice. Tuna is positioned on top of the rice, and tekkamaki is then rolled along by hand using a bamboo mat. 

2. Madfoon

Madfoon is an Arabian meal made with a mixture of meat and rice. This delicious dish is distinguished by a cooking method in which the marinated meat is cooked by an underground hole where it is positioned on the sand and bounded by charcoal.

The smoke and heat deliberately cook the meat, keeping it juicy and tender while providing it with a slightly smoky flavour and aroma.

3. Mujaddara

The vegan mixture of lentils and rice is a common Levantine fare that is best served with fresh salads. This dish is amassed with cooked rice and lentil that is augmented with a substantial amount of onions sautéed in olive oil. When served, the combination is bettered with fried onions and is normally sided with ordinary or garlic-flavoured yogurt and flatbread that should be used as an alternative of utensils.

4. Perde Pilavi

Perde pilavi or drape pilaf is a traditional Turkish dish containing dough that is packed with rice, chicken, currants, almonds, pine nuts, butter, and spices such as salt, oregano, and pepper. The dough is prepared with flavour, eggs, butter, and yogurt.

The pilaf is classically made for weddings because it signifies the building of a new home, while rice indicates fertility and the currants are a symbol of future children.

5. Duck Rice

This Singaporean classic dish combines white rice and roasted or steamed duck. If roasted, several seasonings such as cinnamon, ginger, or anise are retained inside the duck, which is then draped and cooked until crispy. The braised form is normally slowly cooked in a liberally tested broth.

The duck can be cooked and served in two ways—Hokkien or Teochew. The former is generally doused in a thick, flavourful soy-based sauce, though the latter is usually served sliced and completed by a lighter sauce. The dish is often escorted by tofu, vegetables, or hard-boiled eggs, with a spicy dipping sauce served on the side.
