by Alisha Perry A Blogger
These days, painted cabinets are ruling everybody’s kitchen since the trend of DIY has started, people have started updating their kitchens with only a few coats of a new color. It seems like a no-brainer project, but this undertaking actually has many risks associated with it.

If you want to paint your kitchen cabinets a successful one, then it is important for you to avoid these mistakes.

1. Allow Yourself Enough Time: There is no arguing with the fact that people often think it's a weekend job, but it takes at least four to seven days when you build in the proper prep time. Having observed that when people don’t give enough time, they run into a plethora of problems, making the whole process a bit complex.

2. When You Don’t Remove the Doors: Always keep this in mind that make sure you remove all the doors off, pull the drawers out and remove the hardware knobs and hinges. It’s even observed that there are some people try to save time by painting everything. But this will ultimately ruin the entire look of your kitchen. After a few days, your cabinets and hardware will show signs of wear within a month.

3. Don’t Use Sandpaper: Even if your cabinets are in good condition, you still have to sand them no matter what others think. It is important for you to use sandpaper in the middle of the spectrum.

It's important you get it right the first time, especially for cabinets. This project is easy but it's not the kind of job you're going to want to redo any time soon if you have a problem with the colors.

5. Don’t Rush: Having said that it would be unbearable to wait days for the paint to cure. But if you accidentally smudge the paint, it is important for you to sand the door and repaint it.
