by Lisa C. Marketing Writer

When stones or tiles get damaged, we look at them and say, “Aah my investment”. Tilers, tile companies, and tile store reps – everyone tells waste or damaged tiles or the tiles you have removed from your wall or backsplash, wall, or floor cannot be repurposed.

Well, it’s partially true and partially false. You cannot use waste, discarded, or damaged tiles on your walls and floors. However, you can surely involve them in other interior design purpose – not as wall tile or floor tile, but to create decorative items.

Stone/Tile Dust

If you have a chunk of damaged or waste stones and tiles available on your property, you can get them crushed and grinded into dust or powdered form.

You can use stone and tile dust in place of sand while preparing concrete mixture. It is harder than cement sand mixture.

Mosaics

You can cut damaged and leftover tiles into beautiful shapes and use those shapes to create mosaic patterns on your floors and walls. This is quite a unique way to enhance the charm of your space.

You can use natural stones and tiles of varying colors and textures to create unique mosaic patterns in your home; they will like a unique identity of your home.

Name Plate

You can get your name, house number, and address engraved on a tile and use it at as the name plate at the front door of your home.

Cut Letters & Numbers

There is another cool way you can use discarded tiles. Cut your tiles into attractive, fine-edged letters and numbers. They can be used by kids for playing alphabet related games. You can put them at door to display your name and house number too.

You will need a professional-grade tile cutting machine for this. If you don’t have it, you can take a few damaged tiles to a tiler or some workshop to get it done.

Apart from these, you can cut discarded, damaged and leftover tiles into small squares and round disc and use them as coasters on your table and in your car.
