There are certain rail routes which connect the states in India to the states of the other counties in the subcontinent. These exceptional train routes are convenient and beneficial for the train travellers who want to visit the states in other countries without paying a hefty amount to the flight companies. Predominantly, there are 3 major countries Indian Railways has connected rail routes, namely -

India Pakistan Train Routes

India and Pakistan share one of the most glorious histories in the world. As we all know that Pakistan was a part of India before the partition occurred in 1947. Before the partition, there were a total 8 train routes between India and Pakistan. The number of international train routes decreased to 2 rail lines after the Independence. The two current international train routes between India and Pakistan are mentioned below.

  1. Amritsar, India to Lahore, Pakistan - This train route is one of the most famous international train routes that connect these two countries. The train that runs on this famous train route is called Samjhauta Express which has also been featured in the movie Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

  2. Rajasthan State, Rajasthan to Sindh, Pakistan - This is the second train route that connects these two countries. This international train route serves a tremendous number of people every single day.


India Nepal Train Route

India Nepal shares a remarkable relationship in terms of politics and commerce. Both the countries are well connected with airlines and railway lines. You can find a number of Trains between these two countries which serve a huge number of people. The train routes between these two countries are as follows:


  1. Jayanagar Station, Bihar to Khajuri, Dhanusa

  2. Raxaul Junction, Bihar to Sirsiya, Parsa

  1. Kolkata, India to Dhaka, Bangladesh - It is one of the most prominent train routes connecting these two countries. The Maitree Express runs on this international train route and was started in the month of April 2008.

  2. Petrapole in India to Benapole in Bangladesh - This is another important train route that connects both the countries. The train runs on this international train route is Bandhan Express

  3. Sinbad in India to Rohanpur in Bangladesh - A freight train service is also available between India and Bangladesh, further enhancing the relationship between these two countries.
