3 factors to consider before purchasing a POS

by Ryan David Astrologer

The time to acquire a POS can be a bit stressful for many traders, usually, they ask for recommendations, search the internet, and search for the best prices, among other actions that end up making the process quite exhausting.

In this post, we will explain three (03) factors to consider before purchasing a POS:

1.- How POS manages inventory

Inventory is the daily bread of every retail store, whether online or physical. A study shows that retailers can lose up to 14% of customers due to out-of-stock products. A good point of sale helps you to keep your shelves well-stocked with fresh products helping them sell faster, helping to forecast, automate and consolidate inventory management.

A good POS System should allow the staff to find the inventory quantities, at the customer's request, directly from the sales floor. The owner or manager must be able to make a report on stock levels of any period.

What to look for:

Understanding stock levels by physical store location.

Understanding online stock levels.

Reports of top-selling products and brands.

Automated PO reminders when there is a lack of stock on certain items.

A simple workflow for the manufacture of purchase orders, even across multiple suppliers.

Easy product information.

2.- POS can improve the customer's shopping experience

As we already know that the success of every business depends on the quality of the service that the customer receives from the employees of the store and how enjoyable their experience in the store is; that is why many retailers are beginning to include technology in their businesses to improve the quality of the service.

An interesting way to include technology is to provide employees with tablets or smart devices through which they can communicate with the different areas of the establishment to solve any doubts or requirements that the client may have and through which they can manage the POS and access the information stored in it.

What to look for:

Support for smart devices (smartphones, tablets, among others) to encourage customer interaction throughout the store.

A quick search for inventory.

Additional sales features, such as suggestions for related products, store promotions, among others.

Access the customer's database that tracks past purchases, preferred brands, sizes.

3.- The mobility capacity of the POS

Customers value and do not want to feel that they lose it, so it will not be difficult to leave the store without buying anything after waiting for more than 8 minutes in the queue of the box. Therefore, in Free POS that you choose, you must offer speed and convenience, and you must be able to go wherever the customer goes. Staff should be able to charge customers from anywhere or otherwise keep them occupied so that they are not just standing to wait for the service. This not only provides product knowledge and information directly on the sales floor but adds a personal and elegant touch to customer interaction, helping sales staff use the power of the brand to their benefit.

What to look for:

 Output capacity on mobile devices.

Wireless support for temporary locations such as street fairs, home sales, among others.

Little by little technology has been included in retail companies mainly through the acquisition of POS to improve the quality of service and business management. in SalesVu we offer you various options that adapt to the type of business you own or that you are planning to undertake.
