2012 popular elements between the womenby Loisea Ben fashion
Hong Kong is known for being one of the most forward thinking places in the world when it comes to fashion. Women in Hong Kong seem to have a natural style and no matter the season or the weather their wardrobes display an uncanny ability to highlight what is on trend right now. Hong Kong summer fashion trends in 2012 are all about bright colours, prints and accessories, and to achieve the look there is no need to make a Premium credit card application . Here we take a look at what is popular.
A hot trend for SS12, neon is the perfect way to brighten up your summer wardrobe. Olivia Munn's fluoro yellow skater skirt and Irina Shayk's hot orange skinny jeans look fab paired with simple grey marl, but extra points go to Katie Holmes for colour-blocking her neon pink maxi skirt with a printed green vest. Follow their lead and keep accessories simple; let the colour do the talking!
Blue denim is a staple for timeless summer style, and looks its and everbuying best paired with crisp white cotton. Kirsten Dunst wears her button-front skirt with a simple blouse, knotted at the waist, and retro sunnies for easy vintage style, and the pop of colour from her red bag really sets the whole outfit off. Rachel Bilson opts for super-feminine broderie anglaise with her denim jacket, while Cameron Diaz wears her classic blue jeans with a slouchy tee for a crisp, casual look. When the sun is shining, strappy sandals (like Kirsten and Rachel's) are perfect with this laid back look, but neutral ankle boots like Cameron's look fab too, and will keep your feet dry when the British weather lets us down!
Nothing says garden-party gorgeous like a floral dress, and these bright blooms are some of the best we've seen. Michelle Williams' pale green and yellow print Jason Wu shift really flatters her porcelain skintone, and Dianna Agron's turquoise sunnies really zing with her Tracy Reese for Anthropologie Vestidos de verano dress. Katie Holmes printed blue number is a more casual take on the trend, but all of our ladies have one thing in common, choosing sleek black accessories and statement sunnies to offset their girly frocks.
Prints are everywhere this season, and they're an easy way to add interest to an outfit. Dianna Agron's blue and white zigzag a-line shirt looks super cute with matching blue ballet flats, and her luxe caramel biker provides the perfect colour contrast. Olivia Palermo's watercolour print dress is perfectly balanced by her sherbet yellow knit, and accessorised with her teal blue cross-body bag and adorable fluffy white dog. Finally, Miranda Kerr pulls off the ultimate in airport-chic with her slouchy blue and white printed trousers, a simple white vest, and smart black blazer, with her Yves Saint Laurent Cabas Chyc bag making the perfect carry-on!
That's our summer style sorted then; now all we have to do is wait for the rainclouds to disperse! Sunglasses at the ready...
Prints are everywhere at the moment. From maxi dresses to Capri pants a print can accentuate body features you are proud of while diverting eyes from others. For a casual look mix a brightly patterned tunic with some black leggings and simple wedges on the feet. If you are looking for a daytime/night-time look then pairing some printed silk pants with a simple white tee-shirt and blazer is the perfect combination which can be worn to the office during the day and out on the town in the evening. The Stella MacCartney collection at Lane Crawford has some beautiful flower patterned slim leg trousers which are the perfect choice for this look.
There is no better season for a dress or vestidos boda style shrit than summer and this year’s dresses are loose and relaxed. Patterns and block colours work well with all dresses, and to accentuate the length of a maxi dress team it with a pair of chunky heeled wedges – an excellent combination if you want to go for the bohemian look.
A good summer dress can make the transition from office wear to party wear with the addition of a few simple accessories. During the day wear the Vestidos de veranodress with nothing more than a skinny belt to accentuate the waist line. To transform the outfit into party wear add a little bling with chunky bangles, rings and a necklace (the Coach store in the SOGO shopping mall has a an excellent range of accessories which can take a dress from casual to chic in mere moments) and of course the must have accessory to achieve the perfect daytime summer look is a pair of sunglasses.
