by Marta Jordan Writer
When it comes to using the Router, there are times when you need to make changes in the settings part. To do that, you need to login into your Router’s account, and for that, you need to use the right IP Address, like 192.168.1.1. From setting up the Router to managing security, there are a number of things that you need to keep in mind. If you want to make modifications to the username or the password, there is a proper procedure to adopt, and here we are discussing that in detail.

Security plays an essential role while working with the routers. To avoid unwanted strangers connecting with your network without your permission, there is a need to create a strong password involving more than ten characters. You should add a combo of numerals, alphabets, special characters, symbols, etc. By doing so, you can increase your chances of getting better protection. Henceforth it’s essential that you secure your Router.

Resetting Credentials Of Your Router!

If you want to make changes in the credentials of your Router, then you need to get access to the settings page. For that purpose, you need to use the default username and password that comes with the Router itself. After changing the credentials, you can easily preserve the Router from unknown and random users whether you are at your home or the workplace.

To reset the settings of your Router, you just need to press the reset button that you will find on the Router only. Otherwise, you can use the IP address 192.168.1.1 also and follow a list of instructions. When you use the reset button, the username and the password of the Router will automatically return to the default set by your ISP. Using an Internet service provider (ISP), you can set up the internet on your Router without much hassle.

Unboxing A New Router – Do This!

After you open the new box of the Router, you will see that it comes up along with the Login credentials as it was written on the box itself. By using the 192.168.1.1, one can easily connect his or her device to the Wi-Fi connection. In this way, you enjoy full control of your Router and the devices connect to it. Other than that, you can also get access to amazing features like email via ISP and more.

Now the question is – what if you don’t know your default credentials? Well, to manage that, you can use some of the following sets of usernames and passwords. These are the most common ones that can work for almost all brands, from TP-Link to Netgear to D-Link and more.

For instance, if you are using ADMIN as a username, then you can use the same, i.e., ADMIN as a password also. Another set is using ADMIN as a username and PASSWORD as a password. Or you can use ADMIN as a username and leave the space of the password blank.

All in all, you can make a lot of inbuilt settings while managing the protection and security quotient of your Router. Just follow the right steps of setting up first, starting from using the right IP address like 192.168.1.1 and others. In this way, you can enhance the security factor of your Router very easily.
