by JOSEPH CHACKERY Officer

Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals.

Statistics show that 80% of sales are made after the 5th contact with a prospective customer. All successful Internet Businesses have used Autoresponders to build their list.

Building consumer interest and expectation are the first steps to profitably marketing any product online. Autoresponders are often used as e-mail marketing tools, to immediately provide information to their prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals.

An email message sent to subscribers on a regular schedule with relevant information on a topic. They are used a way to capture Web site visitor's email addresses.  They can also be used to keep in touch with existing customers, or simply as a means of distributing new information on products. With an Autoresponder service you can send plain Text, HTML, Video, and audio emails to your prospects broadcasting all your messages right into their inbox in any frequency set by you automatically.

Autoresponders play an essential role in building this interest and expectation. For example, if you were developing an ebook, you may want to start informing your website visitors and list members about it. Use your Autoresponder to start building interest and tell them about your product or service. And, let them know when the product will be available. Build curiosity by teasing them about your product or service.

If you’re an internet marketer and have an internet business then you must need an Autoresponder. Autoresponders will help you skyrocket sales and income and they take the hard work out of promoting. Build your opt-in list the easy way!

Some Autoresponder or mailing list providers charge you for each campaign or by the number of subscribers in your list. You can get professional paid Autoresponder services like Aweber, Traffic Wave and Getaresponse etc. for your email marketing; however, always start with free services with limited features meant for small internet business people.

Just to let you know, GetResponse is free as long as you have less than 10 subscribers

A very good writeup on Autoresponders. As your rightly stated, 80% of sales are made after the 5th contact with a prospective customer and Autoresponders come in very handy as they provide information to prospective customers and then follow-up with them at preset time intervals.... the sale then most likely comes in after the 4th, 5th or even the 6th follow up messages. I personally use Listwire - it's free and does quite a good job

I agree with all of your it is not always all free until you get the results and when you begin it requires money to invest, it always depends on the individual's business situation. If there was simpler way to get auto responder for beginners it would help greatly.

Great article setting out important considerations for all, especially the newcomer. another great service is iContact (find it at IMScrum.com/autoresponders/).
They start you off with a free account allowing 500 contacts and 2000 medsages a month. That's one a week to a full 500. anymore than that I would suggest is overkill anyway. If you hit 500, you know the service and your campaigns are working so you can start from day1 presenting a professional image and have no changes to make when you upgrade. Remember other marketers make judgements based on many things. Using a known 'free' service doesn't present a good first impression. iContact is used by many big corporations and presents a great first impression.
