To Market or Not to Market and How?

by Corey Blackmur Blackmur Global

How are we all going to market with our:

Products

Services

Opportunities

Programs

etc., etc., etc.,

Or do we have our fingers in too many pots and not effectively promoting any of them.  Are we promoting just online and not offline; are we doing a combination of both.

Now I know for certain a lot of people don't and won't agree with what I am going to write here:

I promote "multiple" programs, products and opportunities whether they are affiliate products or network marketing business products and opportunities, as well I promote these "online" and "offline" in the best manners I know and have learned.

AH! - but I have been told and read many times - pick one and run with it, meaning pick one product, service or program and focus on that.  Is this the right way or the wrong way to market and promote?

Personally my experience and background "offline" revolves around being a "manufacturers representative" - basically I promote "multiple electrical manufacturers" in a predetermined territory or marketplace.  Approximately 30 different manufacturers - each one with multiple products in their basket of goodies.  Basically this is just my way of life "offline" - to market, educate, sell, promote and present multiple products manufacturered by multiple manufactures to contractors, distributor wholesales, engineers and end users that require the multitude of products in the offering I represent for a "commission income".

So therefore, by taking this experience and moving online in my own business, it seemed only natural for me to do the same thing online, by representing multiple opportunities, products, programs and services all with some commonality to it for a "commission and residual income" through various avenues to a world wide market.............

Right - Wrong or Indifferent, it is working slowly and effectively for me........not to say it will or won't for others as well?

What are your thoughts on to market or not to market and how?

I promote a few different things as well, and i heavily promote my coffee offline because its consumable and affordable to sample to get an instant reaction to taste which sells the product and other things that i cant immediately put in someones hands i can market online. But i think depending on your product will depend on how you market for best results

To be honest i am new to "marketing" as a whole, i come from a much different background, with that being said i am going to say in my opinion i would have to say that with many options i would think it would appeal to a wider audience,. But with programs to a new person it may be too confusing at first. I look through all the people and what they have to offer here at Apsense and i get overwhelmed with all the options. But as a beginner here i am sure i have a lot to learn, lol. But i do appreciate we have the options never the less.

hi Corey,
I posted below and will say a few more words here sorry i did that..lol, as i said i am new to marketing and that would include Apsense. It's hard to say which is right and which is right, but i think the more people you can appeal to ( with products/programs) the better your chances of attracting traffic therefore receiving more referrels.

Hi Corey thought provoking post for me this one, I peronallly have found it more beneficial for me to promote one business, however within that business I am promoting niche products and from that niche there are a host of micro niches then there are the nano niches within these so although I am promoting only one business I am promoting hundreds of products that fall within my business brief.however each niche and its subordinates were developed one at a time until they became self perpetuating.

I thought you were advertising a product with campaign, well i choose to market affiliate products and my own programs.

As for offline i don't know about. I use online.

Corey, In many ways we are similar. I promote quite a number of products and services at the same time and this works for me as I am comfortable doing so - I just can't imagine myself promoting only one product or service. However I do know of some individuals who insist on sticking with one product and promoting that product alone and it works for them. Well, as they say, different strokes for different folks.

Hey Cory, excellent article. You can never stop promoting your business ventures. Never give up on your promotions no matter how frustrating it can be at times. Good luck. Glenn
