Creative Thinking

by Kevin H. Internet Marketing
Most people believe that you must be brilliant or artistic in some way to be creative.  Well, you don?t.  Anyone can be creative thinking when you put your mind to it.  It?s all about learning and taking the time to realize what comprises creativity.  The simple truth is that creative thinking is nothing more than a way to think and how you can improve and develop it.

We know that as children we were more creative than we are now as grown ups.  So, it?s fairly easy to say that at one point everyone had a creative mind.  Unfortunately, as we got older society places conditions on how and what we should think.  We are taught more to be obedient and less creative.  While following the rules is a good thing, it shouldn?t replace the opportunity to think creatively.

So, why is it that some people always seem to be more creative than most?  No, they are not geniuses.  Creative thinking is simply a skill or ability which is something that you can learn and develop.  However, some people do stand out when it comes to creativity and one thing that sets them apart from others is the fact that they have spent more time learning and developing their skills.

Have you ever watched a young person on their cell phone texting?  They can text faster on that little key pad faster than I can type on a keyboard.  Or how about video games?  I personally enjoy playing Halo, and no, I?m not an elite player, I?m just an ordinary guy who likes to relax while playing a video game.  Now, have you watched these kids play video games?  It?s unbelievable how fast their thumbs can move on a controller.  Many people believe that they were born with this ability.  What ever you believe, one thing is obvious, practice and repetitive actions are the biggest factor in what makes them seem so talented or skillful.

At the present time there is a big debate on whether texting and video games are actually creating a less or more productive atmosphere.  I did not bring this up to argue or debate the point of whether they are good or bad for ones own development.  However, the one point I am trying to make is that people young or old, did not learn how to text at the speed of light or become an elite game player overnight.  They spent time learning, practicing and honing in on those particular skills they needed.

This is exactly the same attitude that you need when it comes to creative thinking.  Being creative is sometimes all about placing yourself or your mind in a different location, maybe even in a different year, or for that matter, a different galaxy.   Why not?  We all have our own favorite superheroes, villains or dreams of adventure.  You can come up with many ideas just by letting yourself pretend for a moment that you are someone else.

In order to be creative there is one key element that you must overcome, and that is, you must believe in yourself!  From there you will find countless ways that you can open the creative thinking within yourself, and in the end you can tell yourself that it?s okay to go ahead and do it.

Hi Kevin, just one little thing. You copied and pasted your text from another source, either one of your blogs, or you had written it first in Word. There is a problem with that. The quote character becomes a question mark. The text appears non professional because of that. I invite you to edit it here and replace the ' with ? when appropriate.
