The internet may be a marketing dream, but the over-achiever in this industry won't be found asleep on the job. Unlike the working worlds of our parents, cyberspace is a 24/7 opperation. This means the customer never sleeps and opportunity never stops knocking.

 After being a relational activity, marketing is a numbers game; the more opportunities you take to push yourself out there, the more opportunities you will have. If half the world is waking up and putting on their business thinking caps just as you are warming your milk, then there goes half of the great connections you could have made, the traffic you could get, and the business you could have done. Nobody wants to build a business on could haves.

On the positive, if you keep your business mind working just a little overtime tonight, you may effectively eliminate your competition, and all while they sleep like babies!

Now I've got an excuse to keep the lantern burning into the small hours. Half the world is waking just as I'm heading offline. Al Hamilton   Online Marketing Yes, just as there isn't a recession in online marketing, the internet never sleeps. In fact, one of my groups (no intention to spam) is called Insomnia Marketing. Skype support groups are great for us night owls...When we need a break, pop down to the skype window, maybe share an upbeat music vid, or inspirational/motivational video from youtube and unwind...then back at it. Also, when you have business around the world, I think there's a responsibility to make yourself available to those in your org. from those other time zones. Dec 22nd 2010 09:50

Philippe Moisan   Video Champions, APSense Mentor @Al, I don't quite agree with you, as for the responsibility to your team, if it's for a team chat or a weekly 1-hour webinar, for example, that's ok, but let's not forget why we are in IM : to become financially independent, well at least it's my case, to have more time for my family. I don't think it would be reasonable to ask our family "stay on the sideline for x number of years til I get rich" The importance of the team stands out here, a team member can fill you in on the most important details if the associates keep talking after you went to bed. Also, using places such as groups here at APSense can be used to post info on the most important points to discuss later on. Dec 22nd 2010 10:02
