Advice From Dad
by Bipin Shah Self Employed A young boy and his dad went out fishing one fine morning. After a few quiet hours out in the boat, the boy became curious about the world around him. He looked up at his dad and asked "How do fish breath under water?"His dad thought about it for a moment, then replied, "I really don't know, son."
The boy sat quietly from another moment, then turned back to his dad and asked, "How does our boat float on the water?"
Once again his dad replied, "Don?t know, son."
Pondering his thoughts again, a short while later, the boy asks "Why is the sky blue?"
Again, his dad replied. "Don?t know, son."
The inquisitive boy, worried he was annoying his father, asks this time "Dad, do you mind that I'm asking you all of these questions?"
"Of course not son." replied his dad, "How else are you ever going to learn anything?"

Nice Story. When my children were young If I did not know an answer I would say " I'm not sure let's find out. I would have them look it up in Child Craft Encyclopedia and we would learn the answers together. In general the color of anything is caused by the rays that do not go though it, causing it to be the color of the bounced off rays. The sky is blue for this reason. The amount of light varies the depth of color. For example in the north east in the spring and summer the sky is blue. Most of the winter it is pale or even gray blue due to less light. Children feel assured that Mom and Dad can still learn something. It is like you run your business. If someone has a question to which you don't have the answer you say. i don't know but I will find out. You ask your leaders and get the answer back to them right away and then add it to your blog. Others will be grateful and follow you because they are assured that you are a leader willing to share what you learn. Oct 15th 2010 07:34 |
