Western Digital Hard Drive Verse SeaGate Hard Drive
by Guy SiversonWestern Digital Hard Drive Verse SeaGate Hard Drive
Hard drive, there was a time when that would have meant
driving through blinding snow on a cold winter night. Now when someone talks
about hard drive we readily understand them to be speaking about computers
unless otherwise clarified. Given that technology is now at the forefront of
living for professionals and lay consumers alike it has become critical to have
technology you can rely on each and every day.
That is why securing the optimal hard drive for specific needs you have is of
high importance.
Therefore, the two hard drives that we will be reviewing are the Seagate
ST31000528AS 1TB SATA2 7200rpm 32MB Hard drive and the Western Digital AV-GP
WD15EVDS 1.50 TB Internal Hard drive. this review is not an attempt to pit the
Western Digital technology against the Seagate hard drive but rather to inform
consumers wanting to secure the knowledge of these two units about the
similarities and differences between the hard drive units.
WD AV-GP 1.50 TB Internal Hard drive
Per Western Digital this hard drive is great for power conserving (up to 40%)
while meeting user demands within the audio and video platforms. This hard
drive is designed to be able to handle high temperature conditions while
providing a very quite (less than one sone) noise level.
In short, the benefits of this type of drive include but are not limited to:
- Provides continuously smooth digital video playback
- Power conserving (up to 40%)
- Low levels of power consumption, noise & vibration
- Compatible within a diverse array of products
When
issues like these are important to you considering the Western Digital AV-GP
WD15EVDS 1.50 TB Internal Hard Drive is something we should do.
Seagate 1TB SATA2 7200rpm 32MB Hard drive
This is a nice energy efficient hard drive according to research while
delivering 405 faster read performance than what is provided by competitors. A
point to remember is that previous generation drives are not similar to this
Seagate technology in that drive failures of the past are not an issue with
this device. The ST31000528AS is also very quiet and it works well within RAID
type conditions.
In review, the benefits of this type of drive include but are not limited to:
? Power conserving
? Faster than competitor models
? Great hard drive for multi-tasking environments
? Performs operations very quietly
Hopefully, the above information about these two hard drives will help you
select the one that is right for your own individual needs. I was working away
when suddenly the blue screen of death attacked my own computer screen. To be
sure it was frustrating.
Rebooting in middle of my work was not an option I wanted to choose.
Waiting for the reboot to finish I suddenly read "hard drive not
found" and was horrified. My lesson that day was to always have a backup
ready to support my computing activities. I also came to understand the
advantages of using top notch technology.
That is what the Western Digital Hard Drive and the Seagate Hard Drive both can
be viewed as technology that exceeds your needs while providing the
long-lasting secure platform you desire.
