Lead Generation 101a

The online guru's will tell you that lead generation is simple and   for many of the guru's it is, because they have put time and money into learning how to create lots and lots of leads. This can take time to   build the necessary skills.

So how does someone new to online   marketing or online networking create quality leads for their chosen business.


lead Generation methods


I see lead generation falling in to two broad   categories. Online and Offline.

Offline is the traditional form. It relies on   the person making a list of names and then contacting the people on the   list. depending on the person who created the list and the people on the   list determines the success or failure of the en-devour. There is also   classified advertising in the local paper. Posters or fliers at meeting   places like shopping centers. There is door knocking or calling people   randomly, I do not recommend door Knocking or random calls.

Online lead generation today is the method of   choice by most marketers and net-worker's today. Online lead   generation takes many forms and includes:

         
             
      • Social   networking
      •      
      • Capture Pages
      •      
      • Article marketing
      •      
      • Blogging
      •      
      • Lens
      •      
      • Pay   Per Click
      •      
      • Buying Leads
      •      
      • Personal Branding   
       

These are just a few of the methods I have   used. i will state right now that buying leads is a complete waste of   time, in terms of quality leads for your business. Now that's out of   the way lets break it down some.

Social networking is a fantastic tool for   generating leads if you like to build networks with people directly.   There is a gazzilion social networking sites like facebook twitter myspace giblink skype yahoo  orangeleads

if you are new to lead generation through social networking then I suggest you open an account with about four of the sites and get the feel of the site.

Some Do's of social networking

     
  1. Be social talk to people be polite, treat it like you would if you had met the person face to face for the very first time.
  2.  
  3. Put your photo up, not someone else's
  4.  
  5. Build relationships
  6.  
  7. Set up your account so that it reflects who you are and what your business is.
  8.  
  9. Be credible in what you say to people
  10.  
  11. Give people more than what you receive
  12.  
  13. Accept that your business is not for everyone

Some Don't's of social networking

     
  1. Never ever ever EVER spam people your business
  2.  
  3. Credibility is the only thing you have on line that people relate to,therefore never lie or fib about anything
