For many Americans there is nothing better than coming home after a long day and taking a soak in their bathtubs. This is especially true if you have achy muscles and need a way to relax them that does not require medication. Tubs are a great way to get some solitude too. There are lot of different types out there, and each one caters to specific needs.
The most common tub that will come with a previously owned house or rental are your standard. They have a faucet fixture and shower head. They generally come with a plastic shower curtain. They are generally made of plastic, porcelain, or fiberglass. These tubs are not really suitable for relaxing the way most people want to in a tub. The average adult cannot fully stretch out in the tub.
Many homes try and get a luxury tub. These tubs are designed to resemble the much more
upscale hot tub. They include jets that can be adjusted to massage you in the places you need it most. They are often large enough to fit more than one person. These tubs also include special stepping stools to get in. These are also found in hotels and luxury mobile homes.
There are specially designed tubs for those are disabled or elderly. These tubs typically are much lower to the ground than your usual tub. They sometimes have a door if the person can't lift his or her leg over to climb in normally. Some opt to have a seat installed as well, to make the transition easier.
Special therapy tubs are available at rehab centers. These tubs will include many different features. Some will have special jets to target muscles not targeted with your average whirlpool tub. The heat of the hot water often helps the muscles loosen enough to stretch them for therapy. Some patients are sent to these centers specifically for hydrotherapy.
Being able to relax has become a big part of this busy society. Most households have at least one bathtub to do this in. It is also not uncommon to see children playing in a bubble bath. Even though taking a shower has become more efficient, bathtubs are still getting plenty of use in the household.
