Melamine

Recenty news about Melamine contaminated products has been pumped out heavily.

It's quite scarry to think that the things which are not save to eat now some of them we were told that they were save. So what is Melamine by the way?

Melamine is a white crystalline substance, sometimes referred to as cyanuramide, consisting of carbon, nitrogen and hydrogen. The compound was synthesized in the 1830s by German scientist Justus von Liebig and later used industrially in the manufacture of plastics and laminates.

And why the hell do they want to put it in our food?

Because when they put Melamine in any products they appear to contain more protien than they actually do tahnks to its content of Nitrogen. Imagine a product contains more protien but cost a lot cheaper,what a great idea! So this is the the way they do it in China, dilute the milk with water then add melamine to fool the customers that the milk still has  good level of protien. wow!!!!

So why is it so bad?

Because in fact the protien content has not change a bit it just the nitrogen in it.

The Kjeldahl and Dumas methods used to test for protein levels fail to distinguish between nitrogen in melamine and naturally occurring in amino acids, allowing the protein levels to be falsified. Introduced into milk, it can help conceal its fraudulent dilution with water.Melamine adulteration of food products also made headlines when pet food was recalled in Europe and the U.S. in 2007.

Melamine is known to cause renal and urinal problems.sixteen infants in Gansu Province who had been fed on milk powder produced by Shijiazhuang-based Sanlu Group were diagnosed with kidney stones

Right, it seems these days nothing from China is cheap! Be careful next time you buy a cheap Made in China product, you might have to pay the rest of the price with you life!!!!
