Check it out first, it may be a scam

It can sometimes be difficult to distinguish between a scam and a legitimate business.  We often hear hype about how great a program is even when we do have some reservations.  Sometimes what pushes us over the edge is hearing someone we think is just like us tell us how they have made money with a program.  Don't let that be the basis of your choice, do your research.  This is required reading if you are thinking of joining any program.  This link will take you to the transcript of a speech given in 1998 on Pyramid Schemes.  Compare this wonderful program with the information given in that speech.

Now let''s talk about those few individuals that are just like you that have been paid.  In a pyramid scheme those few are a part of the plan.  Unwilling dupes that don't even realize that they are being set up as a cheerleading squad.  The only problem is that the top scammers will begin to distance themselves from the scheme as they build up this cheerleading squad.  They already know that the bubble will burst, the pyramid will collapse.  When the scheme shows up on the radar of the watchdog groups, the cheearleading squad are the ones left holding the bag.

Do not listen to hype, do not listen to that person telling you how much they have been paid.  Listen to the Federal Trade Commission and other governmental watchdog groups, because when the house of cards falls, Those are going to be the ones who want to talk to you, and It may not be a conversation you want to have!

Another good move is to check with MLM watchdog. They try to be fair when doing their investigations and will expose the scammer who pose as advocates against scams in order to commit fraud by short selling the stock of legitimate businesses.

I like to search with key word "scam" before the name of the business or person; then I search RipOff Reports; then I try the program on a blog that constantly rotates in a traffic exchange to see how many clicks it gets ~ if it gets decent click throughs I will expand promotions. Now if conversions are weak; I may abandon the program for months, but will check it out from time to time to see if the web site still loads ;)
