Only As Good As The Traffic...

So it doesn't matter how good your program is.  You can put hundreds and 1000s of dollars into your website development.  You can create, re-create, brand, re-brand, make it Viral, jjust make it... None of that really matters...

You aee, you're business is only as good as the traffic you are sending it's way.  That's why this post is dedicated to my favorite blog "Tim Linden's Blog" and to his article "Spotting Bad Traffic Exchanges".

"Spotting Bad Traffic Exchanges" is a 7 part series, that provides a lot of guidance for the IMer looking for promotional avenues.  With the hundreds, even thousands, of Traffic exchanges out there, how can you tell which ones are worth you time and/or money investment.  Most of the time, you don't know until it is too late.

But by asking some simple questions, like "What does it look like?", "What kind of history does it have?" and "Where is the owner?", you are able to assess the situation and determine an Exchange's worth.  Tim Linden's blog opens your eyes to those topics and more.  I particularly like "What does it look like?" which is part 1.  It addresses the issue of "Cookie Cutter" exchanges, and makes you ask yourself "I the owner of this Traffic Exchange doesn't care enough to improve the look, what kind of service will I get if I join?"

This are the thing you must think about before you make a serious investment of money, or time, into a traffic exchange.  If you aren't pleased with the exchnage, then how many other people could possibly be? And if they aren't pleased, then they aren't coming around. So who will be looking at your site?

Take a look at the entire "Spotting Bad Traffic Exchanges" series. I can guarantee you that your eyes will be open, and your time and money will be saved.

Til next time,

Remember that nothing beats a try... But Success
