Just Starting out in Blogging

I am just starting out in the blogging community and reading everything there is to read about maximizing my site.

However, when I applied for a Google AdSense account they rejected me because of "difficult navigation structure" and "your site is down".  When it is back up they said I could resubmit.

Obviously there is something wrong, but I can't find it.  I am using the SEO plug-in in WordPress properly on each page.

Any suggestions?  My site is http://www.homejane.com.
