Beautiful Winter's Day
Today is a really pleasant day, and I'm glad I had to be outside to appreciate it.
The sun is shining, and there's a light breeze, and it's possible to wear a t-shirt, instead of being all rugged up for winter. There's an old grey tabby cat lying in a patch of sun in the front garden. Although it's Tia's territory, I didn't have the heart to move him, as he's a bit battle-scarred and weary. Let him enjoy the sun in peace while he can......... Later I saw a strange light grey patch of something against the mulch in the garden, and went to check that he was alright. It wasn't the cat - he'd gone. There were two ring-necked doves, cuddled up on their breasts together in the same patch of sun. The wattle birds are active in the native trees and shrubs, eating insects, and nectar. Even my cat Tia, and the chickens are sitting about a metre apart in the back garden, enjoying the unseasonable warmth while it lasts. Over towards the west, there's a cloud bank approaching, so it looks as if the afternoon won't be quite so pleasant. Maybe I'd better go do my deliveries while it's still dry............ | Well, today started out being another beautiful day, sunny, and just a small amount of breeze. Looking out of the window now, all you can see are gray clouds, and the wind is rising. The weather bureau says we're going to get some rain, but we don't believe those promises anymore! Only when the rain is showing in the rain gauge do we believe in it - very empiric! Oh well, maybe the climate will change back again to what it used to be........ WolfWoodWares OBA |
