Cyberspace Misadventures In The 21 and a Half Century!

I just got told I can't spell, which is nothing I didn't already know(LOL!) but it reminded me of something that happened a couple weeks back as I was working on an article and came to the word 'dislexic'.

Immediatly I knew I had spelled it incorrectly but could not for the life of me figure out how to spell it properly.

Thats when the light bulb went off, hey we're living in the information age(or whatever the hell you want to call it) right?

A couple clicks of the mouse and I had copied and pasted my misspelled word into that google search engine thingy, it would give me the right spelling.

Well, it worked alright.  In fact, this is what it brought up:

Urban Dictionary: dislexic

The way people with dyslexia spell "dyslexic". "I kant spel im dislexic". dyslexic dyslexia dislexia spelling grammar by GarnetOakley Jan 8, 2008 email it ...

S***!!

Good thing I don't don't have much belief in silly titles, in fact I don't have much belief in the term ADHD either.

And I have no belief in that Godamn ritalin they use to 'treat' it either!

Do a search on the phrase "what if einstien had been put on ritilan", and start looking out for your kids already!

Popular It is not the drugs that are the problem.

It is not the kids that are the problem.

It is not even the fact that dyslexics cannot spell dyslexia.

The problem is that people do not know how to cope with anything outside what they consider to be "the norm".

When I was a small child, because most of my time was spent caring for my parents, I would go WILD when allowed a bit of free time. I was full of fun and exhuberance. I was noisy. I was a bloody nuisance.

But I was looked on kindly and tollerantly by all around me.

Why?

Because many kids my age had polio and were being crippled or killed by that dreadful disease. Salk had not yet got clearance for his vaccine because some kids who had received it in clinical trials went on to contract the disease.

In the immediate post WW2 years, food remained rationed and many children had rickets and were seriously under nourished. We could get a free orange juice concentrate to help but many parents did not eat properly so that their kids could eat reasonably well.

No parent would have accepted any imbecile telling them that their child was hyperactive or had some sort of attention deficit. Nobody even knew that these things existed.

Children were ACTIVE to different degrees.

It wasn't an illness that needed curing - it was a by-product of being a child - AND IT STILL IS!!!!

Too many parents are content to let idiotic, theory generating, wannabe famous morons tell them that it is not THEIR fault Johhny runs around all day or cannot spell.

Let's be honest about things.

Teachers are no longer trained to teach. They are no longer trained in methods of gaining the respect of their pupils. They no longer feel that teaching is a vocation.

Teaching has become a part time job concentrating more on keeping the kids off the streets than on educating them.

Parents are actively discouraged from taking an interest in what their children do when they are at school - indeed, if a parent were to complain that Johnny was not doing very well, they would be accused of pressuring the poor lad and sent for remedial training of their own!

TV stations have become the opiates of the masses and, unfortunately, with the advent of hand held games consols, the brain destroying world of fantasy is on call 24/7/365.

It's about time we ALL realised that we are ABUSING our children by letting them suffer the debilitating effects of TV, Gameboy and simpering wimps who would not know discipline if it spat in their eyes.

It is about time we remembered that WE, as children, were loved without condition and benefited from the fact that we were encouraged and enabled to live with, cope with or over come problems which, today, would create mass hysteria in the minds of the drug purveying idiots we have allowed to rise to positions of influence where our kids are concerned.

STOP ABUSING YOUR CHILDREN - THUMP A CHILD PSYCOLOGIST AND CHALLENGE HIS PILL PRESCRIBING MENTALITY.

Damn and blast it - Apsense - why can't this system cope when I want to write more than a few words? Send my comment? I'll try!

And my last comment WAS NOT ...directed to one person that seems to take things personally. It is about everyone that lives this way.

It isn't the drugs that are the problem, it is not the parents that are not ALWAYS the problem. It is LIFE. The bull crap lies that we have been fed for so long in our history of life. The drama, the fights, the arguments, the disagreements. ALL of these that kids pick up on. No wonder why kids are so damn crazy! I can hardly find anymore conversations that can not go with out arguments! It is just crazy! It is life, we are handed one big lie. Until we all reach together, understand all this and do something about it. What to do but sit and bitch?
I am not going to do it. I get accused if someone comes in my blog and I don't fully agree with what that one is saying...I am hot around the collar? Who is hot around anything. I am hot to trot to make my perfect world for my family and I ......who is with me. I know it is there...so let's JUST DO IT!

Spare the Rod --- Spoil the Child.

When I was growing up, if I got out of line, I got a couple swats with a double razor strap across my backside.

It taught me a few things...
Don't get caught
Respect your elders (because they know your folks and will definitely let them know if you did something wrong)
The swats on my rump didn't demean or kill me and taught me the difference between right and wrong and that for everything I did, there would be consequences, good or bad.

Hi Jean,

Food? Forget about it! We don't want to know just what all goes into it, how it is processed or any of that. LOL! Best grow and raise your own...

Actually they say them red dyes have a connection to some of the 'adhd' cases, then there's all that junk they put in them 'fruit' snacks(yeah right!).

Jennifer, So there are no religous groups in your area that refuse taking shots? Also, there is a growing movement of parents out there claiming these shots have a whole lot to do with their autistic children being autistic! I'll have to rack my brain to remember that site....

Well, I am going thru HELL right now with my kids. It is time for their 'shots' to be due..and I have been refusing full throttle. Now even the law enforcement has been 'harrassing' us. They are telling me my kids can not go to school with out them. So looks like home school bound for me. Then I just may turn into a FULL alcoholic! ROFLMAO. What ever helps to keep my kids DRUG free.

Have always been against too many pills, etc. We're turning ourselves
into a pack of hypochondriacs, not to mention what's happening to
childrens health.
Whatever is in the food needs to be questioned also.
My sister has a mild anaphylactic reaction whenever she eats
anything with a red food dye in it.
