Already weaseling |

Obama isn't even elected yet but already he is sounding like someone who recognises that he must obfuscate and lie if he is to be president. A lot of what he has said has been smoke and mirrors with a great dash of "see the difference" but now he has bought the nomination (don't ANYBODY dare tell me that the amount of money he was able to spend to get nominated had nothing to do with it!) he sounds just like water in a bath swishing around to find its level. Here is the guy who was going to withdraw American troops from Iraq (and to hell with what might happen after that). Now he is prevaricating saying that he will end the war but he would not be a good commander in chief if he ignored the factors on the ground. THERE IS NO WAR IN IRAQ! In Iraq there is the destructive presence of thousands of troops who have invaded the country being plagued by thousands of residents who do not want them there, do not appreciate the destruction that they have wrought and do not understand why the only things that the troops protect is the oil facilities. These same residents also resent the loss of a unifying factor that had, at least, enabled them to know who the enemy was and to live a reasonably normal life and which they would, in the fullness of time, removed for themselves. By simply reiterating "war in Iraq" Obama perpetuates the American myth that their troops are being sacrificed in the cause of democracy. Democracy never came into it. Childish bravado? Yes. Support for a slogan spouting president? Yes. The theft of Iraqi wealth? Yes. An exercise in brutality and ignorance? Yes. Proof that liars lead? Yes. Sorry Mr. Obama. Your stock is starting to fall world wide as you begin to sound like every other American politician. "Change?" - it is beginning to look like you don't know the meaning of the word. Incidentally, does Mugabe mean anything to you? The Old Coot www-5bucksaday.com |

| It so happens I know Gary personally. YES Obama basically has bought(begged) his way in. I don't see HOW McCain can OUT MONEY him with the strategy he has now. Better fasten your seatbelts. We are going to be in for one heck of a ride and it will NOT be FUN either.

| Trust Jeunelle to say what many people are already thinking.
Obama/Clinton - a nightmare ticket! The trouble is, none of the good people have enough money to buy enough influence to even think about entering the race. A great line from "Under Siege" - when asked what he would do when the money was in his bank account, Gary Busey's character said "Buy the presidency" It looks like it really is that simple. Obama has a better way of begging for funds so it looks like McCain isn't in with a chance. The Old Coot www-5bucksaday.com |

| I just have nightmares that if he chooses Hillary as his running mate she will have him assassinated and then she will become President as planned. We all know she wants the oval office real bad and she will do anything to get in it. lmao Jeunelle's World |

| yep. Obama doing the 'flip-flop' then trying to explain himself just made him dig himself deeper in POO. SADLY he still leads over McCain(not that HE is that much of a better choice). I am going to roll the dice with McCain. As far as 2012 goes, maybe his is the final term and not just meaning the US presidency eiher. hmmmmmmmm...
p.s. - In my opinion an Obama win=Israeli strike on Iran before jan 20, 2009. Now THAT shouls stir up things HERE is ANOTHER SN site where YOU can EARN as well. r.yuwie.com/rosebush |

| Maybe there'll be a revolution before 2012.......... Or maybe McCain will win the election - who knows what will happen tomorrow. We can only try and accept whatever comes, like it or not. WolfWoodWares OBA |

| I am actually at peace with what may happen in 2012. Even though it is a time to prepare, it is also helping to me at peace and understand that all of this is just a process. Quite amazing if you really look at it. Ian Lex Lungold. I LOVE IT! http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8689261981090121097&q=lungold

| Hi, Beth
The rest of the world desperately wants to see good people in charge. They want to see Americans learn just a little bit about what other countries consider important before they send in their troops (and set up a whole raft of sweep stakes to see how soon it will be before 'friendly fire' kills some of them). They want to see America pay some sort of service (even if only lip service) to their concerns about the phenomenal quantity of filth America spews into the air. They want to see a curb on the amount of sheer brute force that America applies to get its own way. They want to see free and fair trade. Most of all, they want America to become civilised and break their habit of genocidal incursions. Obama has been well received in the rest of the world. He had been seen as someone who had principals that were important to him. His latest weaseling session simply showed that, now the scent of success in in his nose, he will say anything - regardless of what he has said before. It was particularly sad that he chose to wriggle on the hook of Iraq. An invasion and occupation of a sovereign country that demonstrated all the worst aspects of international ignorance, deliberate scare mongering and military beligerance is something he should have very strong views about. I don't think Hillary would have been any different. These two people were not attempting to WIN the hearts and minds, they were succeeding in BUYING them. Just look how much they spent! | I'm actually concerned about the election in 2012! With the Mayan prophecies and the Solar Flares and other phenomenon of biblical proportion...how will they manage to campaign? I think the president for this election ~ 2008 ~ Should be based on how well they will handle the year 2012! Get Hover Traffic |

| Hi ya Old Coot, looks like I'm first here to visit and read. Didn't know the rest of the world was beginning to see obama as being like every other U.S. politician or politicians in general? I take it you wouldn't have been happy with Hillary either? *smiles* or would the rest of the world been happier with a Clinton in the white house again? Beth Get Hover Traffic |
