What Happens To New Network Members?
|
|
Just happened to notice that there was a new member in my network, so went to see who it was, as I hadn't received a notice from Apsense that someone had joined. Do we actually get informed of this anyway?
Sent them a request for contact, then decided to have a look at the recent members of my network, since I was in the member area. Surprise, surprise ! Some of those I've sent requests to join for contact to have never responded, and haven't seemed to have even revisited Apsense. Wonder what happens to them? Do they think that it will all happen by magic? Why do they actually join, if they aren't going to do anything? Where are they now? It's all too much for this simple soul - if you join something, you use it. Simple, isn't it? Or am I missing something here? Perhaps it's just to easy to sign up, move on, and forget......... | Hi Indrit, Yes, it really makes you wonder why they came here in the first place doesn't it? Perhaps they just forgot about the site......... after all, I suppose we all join things sometimes, then don't know why we did it. :-) WolfWoodWares OBA |

| Hi Arthur, Perhaps the member who joined my network did so from one of my ads for Apsense, and in this case, I noticed them, and sent them a request for contact. Strange that this isn't automatic for one's own recruits, but that's the way it seems to work. Anyway, the fact is that there was a new member in my network, and I had to actually request they be on my friends list. Maybe there is a difference between the network I've recruited, and the network of friends I've build up, and I've confused them. I don't really advertise anymore, but there are ads floating around the net on various sites out there.......... WolfWoodWares OBA |

| I wasn't aware that anybody could join your network without your say so.
If they can do that, surely it is no longer YOUR network but a small segment of the Apsense network? My experience is that responsible members join networks and allow others to join THEIR network because it is the mutually beneficial thing to do and because it provides a possible contact for later should something of interest arise. Some people recruit into their networks quite aggressively, seeking out new members whenever they can, but it often seems to me that these are not members who want to have a large network for what they can do for it - they simply want to see the honour points building up and have lots of people to whom to send their "messages". To be blunt, I could not service a network of thousands of "social" individuals - the day just ain't long enough and, since just about everybody claims ro be an "internet marketer", my conclusion must be that all these huge "be my friend" drives are nothing more than the results of guru-speak. Gurus do not believe in the "social" part of "business and social" which is why sites like Apsense have a very short "interesting" stage in their shelf life and why the numbers of active members goes into a decline fairly quickly after "critical mass" has been achieved or the latest, greatest, can't fail, members out the kazoo membership site is promoted.
