The Smokey Mountians are beautiful. I recommend going around fall, when the leaves are all changing color. It's really breath taking. I love the Smokies. I grew up in Georiga, so the Smokies in North Carolina & Tennesee... or the beaches in Florida..were our vacation destinations quite a bit.
