| Worth Reading? |
So . . . . . . . . . .
|
|
One of the things that stands out like a boil on a bishop's nose on social sites like this is the difference between ad blogs and others. "Ad blogs" don't get read. Sure, they get loads of posts - but look at how many times these posts are looked at. Sometimes you will see that a few people have visited but there are very few comments posted - if any. Maybe one of the reasons is that many ad blogs are posted to by members who only want to advertise and so, disappear after their post. To me, this means that the value of the ads in these blogs is not recognised - they are only there on the off chance that someone will read them and, since everybody appears to be a marketer, why am I not surprised? Better attended are the "marketing tips blogs". These do get read and are often responded to. So, where does one go if there is an ad that you want to be read, which does not directly involve internet marketing but which does give internet marketers the chance to introduce friends to a business in which they have no (other than pecuniary) interest for themselves? The obvious places do not allow ads. Using the Bulletins doesn't help unless you have signed up a significant number of Apsense recruits (Yes, we are all aware that the only people who might possibly be interested in our buletins are our own recruits in the wonderfully Quixotic world of the web.) So . . . . . . . . . . just where can you put a proposition forward that might be of value and interest to the friends of members of Apsense? The Old Coot |

| Hi, Lisa,
All I can say is that the internet will never replace books for those of us who have an affinity with the written word and enjoy the detection of the person behind the word. I started another blog, rather than tack it on here as a post - have a look and see waht you think - http://www.apsense.com/subject/31124.html The Old Coot |

| Off the subject a little bit here, but..the other day someone told me "hey Lisa, You should take up reading". I used to read books all the time, It is fun. I don't read as much as I used to, in hard print that is. It just dawned on me, I probably read equivalent to a book every other day. We probably all do. I have learned so much from reading others blogs, both informative, entertaining, enlightning, and yes..ads too.
Back on the subject, I do think so many miss the great chance of growing their business(s) when they just post an ad on Apsense (or any other social group) and then "Vamoboosh" (disappear). I have to admit, I'm guilty to a certain degree. I have found it very difficult to properly juggle everything that I have joined, there are only so many hours in a day for working on our material, emails, an inputs..etc. I decided at the beginning of this year, to choose the ones that I love the most. Yes, you got it, Apsense is in that list of mine. I think the best thing we can all do, is to do our best to stay in touch with those that have joined our opportunties. With so much going on, online, I think out of sight out of mind. Thanks for this blog Joseph. I know I will always be a work in progress, and learning something new everyday on the online world! I have one question for now, again..perhaps off the topic again... What did we all do before the internet..lol.... For those that saw the South Park episode ...about a day without the internet, it is amazing thing. BIG Crumbs |

| Hi, Joseph,
Thanks for visiting my blog. It is actually there for other people to post to. I know very little about on line business practices so it has been great to put up a site for marketers to visit. No squeeze page, no OTO, no upsell infact you can visit free of any pressure. I have similar sites for affiliate revenue, blogging, broadband internet, ezine marketing, ezine publishing, forums, internet marketing, networking, network marketing, ppc advertising, traffic building, video conferencing, video streaming, voip, web design, web hosting and web development (over 10,000 pages altogether and right up to the minute news on all of them). They are resources that anybody can visit and which I am now using to learn about the quagmire that appears to be internet marketing. The Old Coot |

| Hey Old Coot, I do not know if I am in the same way of thinking as you are, but I think general interest in fully laden communities of marketers is of more benefit, showing the real you with values, ethics, hobbies, interests, then maybe they will think what does this person do? Really I think first and foremost we should just enjoy ourselves, the rest seems to follow. If you find it fun or interesting someone else will! Great topic! | Arthur,
"WOW" , going down like a LEAD BALLOON........l would have to say that would be at an incredible speed. More then likely hurt when you reach the ground.....Actually beth the Old Coot makes real good sense here. He is not holding anything back and straight to the vital point and by passing any major heart transplants, why his head is hurt........ What he is saying to the point with out all the adverbs and adjectives, Posting your advertising as a BLOG will not work on here. He is right if you take a few minutes an go to the section where the posting of advertising is allow, tell me how many comments you will read that have any significate weight to it...... What you do get as a comment is normally one or two sentence that makes zero sense, You need to remember one thing marketing on the inerent is all about having fun and he is doing a real good job with the way he presents his thoughs, it just takes time to understand what he is getting at...........he is very clever............he more then likely got you to go his blog like l did...........hahahaha.......... | Hi, Beth,
What I have to offer goes down like a lead balloon with internet marketers because it does not blow your socks off, it isn't based upon arcane laws re-invented to enable the sale of mind bending books, it will not make you rich over-night, it does not have a triple by-passed, double or quit, rotating, hell - my head hurts, forced matrix, it doesn't have a bike so there is no cycler, the guy who invented it wasn't a one legged, blind foot-baller who has spent years over-coming bankruptcy by buying every ebook on the subject and getting ripped off and it does require that you go out and do some work. Internet marketers should know people in the real world who might be interested but, as I said, the only place to advertise on sites like Apsense is on the advertising blogs - which lots of people post to - but nobody reads. | Well.... you could just start email/pm your contact list and say hi and i thought this might be of use to you... oh no... is that not esoteric enough? Ads and discussion of ads and talk about marketing takes place in a lot of diferent groups... Is what you're talking about the same as your signature link? Some Groups allow for an url to be included if it's embedded in the text and part of the discussion and not the blatant ad format .... Are you proposing that we request some new form of interaction ??? I have a forum LIst all your ventures... or some such thing and you are more than welcome to list and discuss any thing regarding marketing etc... I'm not certain what you mean by what you wrote, old coot! lol Beth Join FREE DM open in INDIA for IR |
