How to get advertisers on Your website

by Ben Ferm Manager

If You are looking for ways to gain some extra income, selling advertising space on Your website or blog is one way of doing it. Ads on Your site can be a quite profitable way to increase Your revenue with small work.

Cruisial here is that Your site looks attractive in the eyes of the companies looking for ad space. Basically to achieve that You need to have a great market, tons of traffic and the possability to offer a good adspace on Your site.

The most common ways of "selling" adspace are:

1. Targeted advertising from Google AdSense.

Google AdSense program allows You to make money advertising on Your site by placing targeted ads generated by Google on Your pages. The ads can be modified in colour and shape. Alternatively You can have banners or pictureads displayed.

As a Google AdSense publisher You earn money every time a visitor to Your site clicks on one of the targeted ads on Your pages.

Google Adsense is free to join, but Google do not like if You have other advertisers than AdSense on Your pages.

There are somewhere around a gazillion different gurus with their own aproach on how to earn the most from AdSense. Some of the e-books out there are worth reading, but the best way to learn is by testing the ads Yourself.

2. Affiliatepromoting on Your site.

By joining another companies affiliate programs and promoting their products on Your site You earn a commission every time there is a purchase through Your pages. This is not a normal ad, but the revenue can still be quite good.

To find affiliate programs that suit You, there are a lot of affiliate directories to examine until You find the right one for Your site.

3. Contact the companies directly.

The best way to contact other companies is by phone. Remember to be proffessional. Be sure that the products are in some way complementary to the ones You are selling Yourself.

Companies are always looking for good advertising space. The price You get depend on the quality of Your site, the product You offer and, of course, the amount of traffic You have to Your site.

There propably are more methods, like signing up for different programs. If You are a blogger, there is many programs specially designed for blogs.

Good luck!
