HTML Code Blues

by Jean DAndrea Retired

HTMl is not my strong point, as some of you may have noticed in other blogs.........

Today I have been trying to update some of my business pages.    As an affiliate
I use the generic pages provided for me as a starting point, and that's where the
trouble starts.

When I download them, I'm discovering that often, the link to E-gold has somehow
been corrupted and is now sending people to my Alertpay processor.

I have no idea how this is happening - I don't touch that code at all, so something
is happening on my PC.     There's a ghost in the machine, most likely.

I used to think it was because I was using MS Frontpage, but I've been saving
the pages in Notepad and the same thing happens when I check the pages in
a browser.

This is driving me nuts, and I've never come across anyone else having this trouble.
Something is being changed in the code for the payment processors, but what, and
how, I have no idea.

Has anyone ever heard of this happening to anyone, please?     Any suggestions
will be greatfully received.     I really want to use this payment code and parts of
the pages to advertise my business, but need to personalise them, and currently,
it's just about impossible.

Perhaps I should just remove Egold as an option.........

I wish I could help you, but I am not html savvy at all. Good luck! Why don't you post this in the tech group?

Hi Rae,

Probably because my brain wasn't working again! I should have,
I realise, but not to worry. I'll ask again later in that group when
I remember to. :-)
